Irregular cycle after egg retrieval

Hi all, hope you’re all hanging in there and starting to hear from your clinics now things are 🤞🏻 Settling down.

I had egg retrieval 2 weeks before lockdown, got my first period 10 days after like they’d said I would but am now a week late with my first regular period. I’m supposed to be tracking my cycle for a mock ET but I’m not sure what’s going on, I’ve never been late more than a day in my life. Does anyone have any experience with that? Or advice? I’m not sure whether I should notify my clinic just in case I need a medicated frozen cycle?

Thanks xx

Hi Lisa, this happened to me too and I believe lots of others have said the same. I am extremely regular but the period after the withdrawal bleed was about 8 days late. I was worried but in the end it was all fine. Xx

Thank you for letting me know, it’s a weight off. I’ll just be patient then ha. Good luck with fet, do you mind me asking, was there a reason you went with a medicated cycle? I have been asked to confirm if I wanted medicated or natural but not yet been given any advice on which would be better for me.

Wishing you all the luck in the world xx

Thank you, you too. I wasn’t really given a choice I’ve Pcos so irregular periods and don’t ovulate regularly so I kind of had to go with medicated x

THANK YOU Lisa and girls for sharing your experiences. I am now in the same boat, 1 month and a half post egg retrival, 5 days late and no period and was upset this may be menopause. Thank You for putting my mind at ease! ❤

Hi ladies,

Ive had 2 egg collections nov 17 and march 18. All those hormones in a small space of time sent my cycle right out of the window! Its no surprise things end up a little messed up even for those of us who are normally regular with our periods. Its a little frustrating i know to have to wait but try not to stress this could only delay it further. Your body has been through a lot it just needs a little time to reset itself. Lots of luck to you all xxx

Hi lovely ladies

I am having a very similar problem - trying not to stress and to distract myself but it’s impossible. I had a bleed after my ER earlier than it was due but I expected that I am now waiting for my second period to be able to have my FET and it is just not coming! It will be 7 weeks on Wednesday since my last bleed and I am never late more than a day or 2 never mind 3 week. I know this can be common but just not sure this late is common do you mind sharing how late you guys were on your second cycle? Was it just day or was it weeks, I’m going a little insane! Lol xxx

Hey lovely.

Mine is was 6 weeks after my egg collection bleed so try not to worry too much. You could always ask to be given meds to induce it? Hopefully it will come soon though ☺️ xx

Okay thank you for your response, I just seem to be looking for comfort/explanation wherever I can because it’s so much out of my hands even when I think I start to get things ‘under control’ something is thrown in the works - waaahh!! Yes that will be the next step if it hasn’t happened soon they will give me meds so I’ll just try relax in the meantime. Thanks again for ur reply. Absolute best of luck with everything xx
