IVF round 2 - abit about me

We had our first IVF cycle back in march(In Italy) this year . I was on Gonal F 112.5 . I have PCOS and have a AMH of 5 (Normal and healthy for my age in Italy labs) and healthy BMI . I had a poor response to this medication . I only retrieved 5 eggs out of which 3 were Immature. 1 egg was a day 3 fresh transfer which we obtained a positive but unfortunately we lost sadly at 22 weeks . We then tried a embryo transfer with our final embryo which was of 3BB quality which failed.

Considering I was 25 at the time we also assumed I would respond well to the medication. However we did not respond too great . I am now 26.

We have had an email from our clinic - But i have a few questions that someone may be able to answer before they do to ease my anxiety!

I had a bleed after my failed transfer on the 14th .

They have told me I need to do an FSH and AMH blood test on the second day of my period calculated 12/12 .

Now my only concern is i have pcos and I honestly dont trust my body to have a bleed on its own.

Also i read that you have to have a natural period ,to do the fsh and AMH test im not sure if this is correct? .

Do you think they will induce my period? And will the fsh and amh test work the same way? As it would on a natural bleed?

Hello! I also have PCOS and explained to my clinic that I couldn’t rely on my period as it was so unpredictable so they induced my bleed for both transfers by using Northisterone. This really helped as I was so anxious about dates and the unknown and kept thinking I would have to wait months for my period!

hello idk if it would be different as they want me to get my bleed between 12-15th dec depending on my period then on the second day do my fsh and amh test . And then start the pill for down regulation? Keep takinh it untill they say And expected stimming date is starting 15th jan

hello, I’m no expert here but I would think it doesn’t matter if it’s a natural period or an induced one, as I assume they are trying to gauge your levels on that day to then set the doses for whatever medications they want to put you on? I have pcos and have to induce my periods as well and they always get me to do bloods on day 2 to check FSH and various other things.

I would definitely make sure they know you probably won’t get your period in that window, and ask them about inducing your period.
