Period while taking cyclogest

Hi all, I am currently on day 11 of taking 2x400mg of cyclogest following an IUI procedure 12 days ago. I was told to take cyclogest for 14 days and take a pregnancy test on day 15 but it looks like my period has just started. Has this ever happened to anyone? I wasn't aware that I could still get a period while taking cyclogest. I will speak to my gynae on Monday.

it may be implantation bleeding or related to early pregnancy so please keep taking your meds! I’ve made the mistake of stopping early as I mistook bleeding for period x

On 3 transfers I bled before my OTD. My previous clinic insisted on me carrying on with meds till blood test but my current clinic says stop meds after a negative test at home and a bleed. My advice is carry on meds till you speak to your clinic x

Hi Timetoknow, it is really important to keep up meds until the clinic tell you otherwise as it is impossible to determine the outcome from bleeding alone. However, I had my period about 8 days into the TWW on my first cycle and my experience was that it hadn't worked unfortunately. I started spotting then had bright red bleeding and full flow for 3/4 days. It does happen. I've been given more progesterone on subsequent cycles and have not had the same bleeding again, so it might be worth asking if you need more progesterone if you go forward to another round. Look after yourself xx

all my 3 IUIs I was in progesterone I bled before test day and also one of my IVF transfers I’ve added in lubion now and don’t bleed before test day you could maybe ask about that. I also bled heavily on my successful one though so defo keep up with your meds until you do your test xx

In my clinic they say you shouldnt bleed before the ODT (even when theres no pregnancy) so they add more progesterone
