Cyclogest

Hi all. I may be asking an obvious question but I can't find the answer anywhere and my GP doesn't know. My husband and I go away next week, hoping to swim in the pool and sea. I'm on natural cycles at present but am taking cyclogest pessaries in the second half to help a hormone imbalance. I'm due to ovulate next Tuesday, our second day on holiday, so would start taking the cyclogest on the Thursday/Friday. I plan on using them at night before bed, and I'm only on one a day. Am I ok to swim? Or should I avoid it? Thank you 😀

I've never heard of an issue with swimming. Re the mess of taking them you might find it easier to use it back passage those days as no mess. Have a great holiday. X

I would ask...I think it’s more to do with infection in the water. Good luck

I asked my clinic and they said that whilst you absorb most of the pessaries in your sleep, there is still some left the day after so if it was a swim early in the day then best to pop the pessaries up the back passage but if it’s later in the day, you should be fine. Have a lovely time and good luck!! 🤞🍀

Thanks all. I shall try to avoid, and if it's too warm then back door it is 😅 xx

My clinic said I should rest for half an hour after inserting the pessarie and by then it would all be absorbed and I would be ok to swim.

My clinic said definitely no swimming if inserted up the front. They said if I was absolutely desperate to swim then insert up the back but they don’t recommend it.
