Cyclogest and bleeding

Hi there. I’m getting some light-medium amount of bleeding and have done every day for 3 weeks (6 weeks preg) so feeling very pessimistic about the chance of the pregnancy continuing. I’m on lubion injections and 1 cyclogest pessary (rectally) Woke up in the middle of the night and had forgotten to take my cyclogest so went the loo. My bleeding was so much lighter than it has been for days. Inserted the cyclogest and went back to bed. Woke up this morning and terrible bleeding again. Does anyone have any experience of this and did they come off the cyclogest and stick to lubion only?

Hi the cyclogest can cause irritation, but I wouldn’t have thought this would be the cause if you’re using it rectally. Have you had your progesterone level checked? Could be that you need extra medication. What did your clinic say? X

Not particularly interested just asking me to ride it out until the scan as I’m not in pain. Very pleasant but not helpful. Feeling shattered from being on what’s felt like a three week long period.

I would insist on some advice from your clinic, they should scan you early or at least check your progesterone levels. Doesn’t sound very professional x

I agree. Happy for me just to bleed out for weeks on end when they could identify if I need some support (to help the pregnancy end if not viable) I need to advocate for myself and call them next week. I think a 6 week scan is a thing?

Have you had an ultrasound? I had a heavy bleed at 6 weeks and it turned out to be a subchorionic hematoma. Nothing to do with the progesterone but apparently a not uncommon early pregnancy complication after IVF. I was told to stop my baby aspirin and that helped. Good luck!

nope they won’t do anything for me until 21st feb (8 weeks) not taking any aspirin or any other meds, just seems funny I forgot my pessary and seemed to ease off! Thanks
