Cyclogest & AF

Hey guys,

Should I be expecting my period to come while still on cyclogest? I am on 2 x 400mg per day....if ivf has been negative that is...

Or how long does it take period to come back after ivf?

Xxx

Cyclogest stops your period from coming. You need to wait until your clinic advises to come off any ivf support and then your period should start a few days after x

Ok cool. I test on Monday - pretty sure it has not worked.

But wasn't sure if I should expect my period this weekend in any case.

Will stay on it until I get a 100% negative.

Thanks for your reply 💕

Really hope you get some good news!! It’s hard to tell as the feelings are the same as the period and in my case zero symptoms at all. Each time is different and it certainly not game over yet 🤞🏼Xxx

Thanks Natalia. Well hoping for a miracle.

Hi EB2001. I would keep on the Cyclogest until official test day and blood test if one is booked. Usually, a bleed happens within a few days of stopping the progesterone, then a period comes when it’s ready 1-2 months after. Diane

Thanks Diane. Yes the nurse said it isn't 100% until I get the bloodtest.

Just wasn't sure it would come before the test.

Hi,

I’m on same dose as you- and was advised I would not bleed whilst on cyclogest. I did bleed last night. It was light and then a little clotting bleed but it’s stopped since.

However usually you do not bleed until you stop the pessaries. It can take up to a week - but do not stop the meds until definite negative or the clinic tell you to

Fingers crossed it works for u ☺️

I think it can be variable. For my first round of IVF I bled two days before OTD whilst on cyclogest, but it can also delay things for many women. All the best xxx

Thanks for your message. I saw your post and congratualtions. I was considering getting a 2nd opinion at the Lister and would love to hear your views. I think this would have to be on a private message.

Congratulations! Xxx
