Buserelin and exhaustion!

Hi everyone, just started on my first cycle of IVF with ICSI. On day 9 of buserelin injections (although I took the wrong dose for the first 3 days - not enough) and experiencing incredible exhaustion. Have had early nights all week and went to bed last night at 7:30 so had nearly 12 hours sleep! I know I'm lucky not to have had any other side effects yet but just don't know how I'm going to continue to get through work feeling like this...I am a school teacher! Has anyone got any tips please? Thanks in advance!

Hi, you’re not alone I’ve been on buserelin for 6 weeks now 😂, tired, thirsty, dry mouth, dry eyes, hot flash, sweat all night, headache, and I have other health issues, low AMH, poor response to stimulation, so switched to long protocol with buserelin, hope this protocol will work

I drank lots of water, 3 litres at leat per day, multi vitamins, lots of fruits, next week w be 7th week on burselin 😂, I didn’t expect it w take so long, but so far so good, the doctor said my cyst gone so much better than last time, but still not sure about the stimulation result this time

If anyone has similar experience like poor response to short protocol stimulation, then changed to down reg? Any better results? Thanks

Oh poor you that sounds awful! I have a really dry mouth but none of the others yet... how horrible being on it so long and to have such horrible side effects! They've started me straight on long protocol for my first time so I've got no advice I'm afraid 😅 Thanks for the tips though, just constantly drinking and trying to be prepared for how tired I'll be each day. Hi there,

I hope you don’t mind me asking but I wondered if you would share more about the cyst and if it caused issues on your cycle? I am down regging and went for a baseline scan yesterday and I have a 4cm cyst. Did buserelin help your cyst to shrink and did you need blood tests to check if it was producing oestrogen, if so was it? I am waiting for blood test results to check if mine is. I’m booked in for another scan in a weeks time and more bloods.

Hi, I also found Buserelin made me very sleepy during my last IVF round. Are you tied to taking it at a particular time? If not you could try taking it later in the day to see if that helps?

Hi, I am but I might ask the nurses when I go in for my scan tomorrow if I can take it a bit later, as I seem to have a massive dip mid afternoon and I'm currently injecting at 7am. Thank you❤️!!

Hi.

I was the same. Just be kind to yourself your body is going through a lot. Try drinking lots of water. I found that helped along with going on a daily. I found it got better after a few weeks.

Thanks so much. It's reassuring to know, even though I know it's probably the least bad side effect it's still really knocked me. I am trying to get out for a bit of daily fresh air 😆 thank you.
