Try naturally before starting norethisterone for new treatment cycle?

I am waiting to hear if my next cycle is going ahead based on AMH ans FSH levels and minimum NHS requirements. You must meet at least one. I do not meet AMH (minimum is 5 and mine is 2.2)

My last FSH was 7.7 (in march)and the maximum for NHS treatment is 8.9. This is really nerve wracking.

Bloods done a few days ago and no results yet.

I am coming up to my fertile window and dont want to miss another opportunity while waiting to start...I would be starting Norethisterone on day 18. (approx 9 days past ovulation)

thoughts appreciated :)

Best check with clinic about using the medication if actively trying to become pregnant at this time

Take care

We were told we weren’t allowed to have unprotected sex, so my last period started on 22/09 and we weren’t allowed to try whilst I ovulated after that (I started norethisterone last Thursday).

It wasn’t clear in my protocol guidance notes, but I specially asked and they said no sex xx

I would say that it pained me not trying and missing an ovulation opportunity, but the rule must be there for a reason xx

They told me no unprotected sex specifically last time too. I was considering a private blood test for pregnancy before starting medication??. It would be too early to tell with another test I think. I think they tell you not to because they don’t want you to take drugs with a potential pregnancy.

I really don’t wanna miss an ovulation op !

I totally understand how you feel, and I was so tempted to try anyway 🥲 but I’m also a great believer in everything happens for a reason… and it was nice to have a month off from pressured sex 😆 xx

yeh same story for me - clinic told us to use protection. They explained that apparently Norethisterone can be harmful if you conceived a girl (must be something to do with having more progesterone in the body), so whilst it pained me not to try that month too, safer to use protection. Hope to all goes well! X
