Intralipid infusion

As all my treatment has been put on hold until after my surgery I’ve been doing some extra research and keep coming back to intralipid infusion. I know there are no extract statistics around the infusion yet but I really think this is worth me trying especially as it is said to help women who have had recurrent miscarriages or implantation failure.

I was wondering if anyone has had the infusion and could share their experiences with me?

I’m going to speak to my consultant post surgery about it as although my treatment is NHS funded I’m hoping I can still pay for this an extra if he agrees 🤞🏻

I cant help at the moment but Im having this done on my next FET which should hopefully be around the end of July. I spoke to lianm8 who has had this a couple of times now. She has a successful pregnancy after having it and is currently pregnant again.xx

Thank you, was your clinic quite supportive of you having it? We could be having our FET’s at similar times 🤞🏻xx

That’s how I feel, my consultant was quite against the NK cells test but let me go on steroids I just feel like this would enable me to save we’ve tried everything. Definitely is, hope you don’t suffer with to many side affects from down reg although you must be relieved after waiting so long to get going again xx

I think it can get quite expensive so shop around to see what it will cost. Im having mine in Athens and its not too bad and I found a private GP practice that will do it for around £100 when Im home (they wont do the first one in case of an allergic reaction). I had spoken to a private clinic here and they wanted to charge me £225 plus £150 prescription charge for me "not being their patient" then said they would knock this off after my outrage!

Yes Im looking forward to get back on the horse so to speak....bit nervous when I think of the outcome though! Ha ha ha xx

Thank you i will do, need to hope my consultant will agree to me having it 🤞🏻

That’s ridiculous, so glad you said something to them and got it knocked off! Ah I totally get that feeling, I think it’s only natural xx

I’ve had 2 Intralipid infusions as part of my IVF treatment this round. I paid for them at CARE London & were £340 each 😵 Only just done egg collection today so don’t know yet if they will have helped my chances this time. Will let you know!

Have you had a natural killer cells test? I paid for some tests which were expensive but showed I carry an auto-immune marker & high levels of natural killer cells so it made sense for me to take steroids & try Intralipids this round.

Wish you lots of luck!!

Was your cycle on the NHS and you paid for the infusion or are you private?

My consultant doesn’t think the NK cells give true answers so last year he just agreed to put me on steroids without the test. I’m a coeliac to so my immune system is already poor which is why I started looking into it all.

Thank you, lots of luck for ET!

We’re doing the whole cycle privately. They only offer 1 round on NHS in our local area and the wait was 2 years!!

If you think the Intralipids will benefit you then I think it would be worth it just for the feeling you’ve thrown everything at it. How long have you been on the steroids? They should really only be used for a short period of time during the IVF.

Gosh that is a long wait. Yeah sorry I meant I was on the steroids last year just for my cycle and it’s been agreed I can try them again when I have my FET, I just don’t think it’s enough. I’m having surgery in a few weeks so will speak to my consultant then about the infusion. Thanks for your advice x

I had it done yesterday in Cyprus following transfer: my first time and it was ok. Had to lay down for two hours while it went through but very relaxing. So let’s see if it helps me this time. I have had four miscarriages to date.
