Childless not by choice

I’ve just had fifth (and final) failed IVF.

Was ok-ish for first week, but last few days I’ve been in a very dark spot coming to terms with a childless future. I’m feeling totally worthless and without purpose.

Can anyone recommend a decent forum? I’ve come across some U.S sites, but even the word “mommy” is triggering (An insight into my state of mind!)

I just wanted to say I’m so sorry for you. I know the feeling! Just know you are not worthless you are strong to have gone through 5 cycles. We are on our 5th with a surrogate. Our 4th was a miscarriage on the 1st transfer with her so we want to give it another try!

I want to wish you the best!!! Hang in there.

Hi noodles. So sorry to hear this, but if you.look at our website fertilitynetworkuk.org you will be able to find support on the Life Without Children pages. Also, look out on the home page at the bottom where news of webinars and groups pop up. Thinking of you. Diane

I am so sorry this is where you are - hopefully this too will pass. No one starts down this journey to end with no child - all the hard work and no payoff is truely awful. I hope in time you will heal and be happy - you are amazing and gave it all you had so take solace that you tried. I have a good friend who found in-person/virtual group "therapy" to be a good option. She said on-line forums started to be all encompassing and made her think about it all the time. 2 hrs once a week with others dedicated to processing and then it being over was helpful.

Take care!
