Meriofert for FET

Hi All,

Has anyone taken Meriofert for a FET?

I’ve tried a couple of natural cycles which I’ve had to cancel due to lining 😕.

It’s usually better on a natural, struggling at the moment.

Consultant had suggested using Meriofert for 10 days.

Any success/ advice?

Thank you xx

Hi lovely, yes I’ve done 3 modified natural cycles with Meriofert. So around 10 days of Meriofert then when I got one follicle over 20 they’d trigger me and do the transfer 5 days later. Their thinking behind it was that I had a successful fresh transfer with my little boy and the modified natural produces the same hormonal effect. I did get pregnant one of the three times, but sadly I miscarried. We ran out of embryos and had to do a full collection again, this time had the embryos PGT-A tested and did a medicated FET and I’m now 11 weeks pregnant 🤞🏼🤞🏼. No idea if it’s made any difference doing a medicated rather than modified natural, but all is going well so far 🤞🏼🤞🏼. Wishing you loads of luck and love. ❤️❤️ xxxx

Congratulations on your pregnancy 💖

Thank you so much for your reply.

I did a natural FET, which is the only positive transfer Ive had. We had a mmc.

I’ve tried to replicate the transfer so far we’ve had to canx due to lining.

I’ve been feeling overwhelmed so hearing your good news has really helped. Thank you.

Thank you for the good luck. Wishing you lots of love and luck with your pregnancy ❤️ Xxx

Hi gerifut,

I hope you are ok. When you took meriofert did you also take Suprecur to stop ovulation? Xx

Hi lovely,

I took Cetrotide to stop ovulation during stims. I then took Suprecur to stop ovulation during FET prep, so I’ve had that too 😊 xx

Thank you.

Yes I’ve been on Suprecur since day 2 along with a low dose of meriofert in readiness for FET.

They think I’ve been on a too high dose of Suprecur 😔 so have had the response hoped for. I’ve been on the dose I’ve usually taken when doing a full collection etc.

Oh I’ve just realised this is with the FET, so on my modified natural cycles with Meriofert I wasn’t on anything to stop ovulation. I just had to go for scans every other day and wee on the ovulation sticks to make sure I wasn’t about to ovulate before they triggered me. So sorry they’ve had you on too high a dose, that’s such a shame! Maybe ask if it’s possible to do it with nothing? Every clinic is so different it blows my mind. Xxxx

Thank you, I don’t think I should of been of Suprecur .. or at least the dose I’ve been on. Really appreciate your reply 💖 x

hello! I did two fully medicated FETs last year that didn’t work, both times my lining was ok but only just over the cusp. This time I wanted to do a modified natural as I don’t think my body likes fake oestrogen- raised my blood pressure. I had also read that more natural FETs reduce the risk of pregnancy issues (preeclampsia etc) vs fully medicated So this time I stimulated with menopur (interchangeable with meriofert) and then they triggered when I had a leading follicle and my lining was so thick! I then used progesterone pessaries and Lubion and this transfer worked! I’m 11 weeks pregnant. Now we did loads of other things different too and more drugs etc but I genuinely think this protocol suited me better.

I also had a friend who did it due to lining issues and it helped her massively and she’s now 18 weeks.

Wishing you luck!

I don’t think my body likes fake estrogen either, it seems to have a negative effect on me.

I’ve been feeling overwhelmed after canx, Because I had a my only positve from a natural FET, I’ve tried to replicate it but it’s not happening. The nurse kept keeling me natural was better so when they said to take Meriofert it was really disappointing.

Im so happy that it had a positive effect for you. Really has given me some positivity.

Congratulations 💖. I hope you are well.

Really appreciate your reply. Thank you xx

Adding Meriofert is still a natural cycle just modified - it just helps ensure that there is less chance of it being cancelled etc, you’re only on it until trigger and then you’re on nothing but progesterone- so def feels more natural and unlike a medicated one you are still producing your own hormones. I could never do fully natural as my cycles are unreliable and honestly I think having the little boost helped me 😊

I feel a lot more positive, thank you.

I’ve done what was I was told a ‘modified natural’ cycle where I took estrogen, I don’t seem to react well to it, it has no effect.

If I’d know about meriofert I’d would have done it earlier. Thank you again. Xx

Hi Wishinandhopin,

I hope you are ok. When you did modified natural did you also take Suprecur to stop ovulation? Xx

No I didn’t, because they were just trying to get one leading follicle they didn’t need to I think- just had quite a few scans and then they triggered. But could also be because they knew I have long cycles?

Thank you for your reply. I don’t think I should of been taking Suprecur 🫣. That’s all I hoped to do was get one lead follicle xx

I don’t see how suprecur would negatively affect it if that’s what your clinic suggested as they would do that in a fresh egg collection round anyway. So I’m sure it’s not that. If you didn’t get a leading follicle this time it could have just been a one-off. For me they had to up my Menopur as my body always takes ages in spite of my high follicle count. So I was on almost as much Menopur as I had been with egg collection!

Hi MiracleI did 6 days of fostimon and 6 days of merifot before egg collection. Apart from getting used to the needles, it was absolutely fine. No side effects to my knowledge. The meritorious helps stimulate the growth of the follicles.

The first round I had 4 follicles but only got 2 eggs. This round they are putting me on merifot for the dull 12 days as it will promote growth of follicles and enhance your chance of getting more mature eggs.

I have everything crossed for you. I start mine again in Sept after a 5minth break! 🙂
