meriofert... high dose... why?

hi ive started my first and only cycle i get 4 days ago and ive been put straight on 450 meriofert which is the max dose. my levels of reserve is low at 1.9 .... ive requested a lower dose and the nurse agreed however when i got my prescription its quite the opposite..... can anyone tell me there experience please... im 39 years young

I'm exactly the same. They said it's due to age and reserve levels. So assume the same for you. It's not too bad. They may adjust down at first scan but can't go up.

Thank you very much for replying i was jist hesitant as my bosses levels were even lower than mine and her consultant put her on lower levels as he said less eggs but far better quality are produced which is obviously what we want x

Hi loopy. All down to ovarian reserve and age as to what they prescribe. However, they will carefully monitor you throughout the cycle, so if any adjustments need to be made, they will do so. Good luck! Diane

Hi loopy126

I am 37 and have a low reserve, AMH 3.9% and I was put on 450ml of the meriofert but monitored regularly. I ended up with 12 follicles and 8 eggs so I don’t regret what level they put me on, I think it helped.

Same here. I am 42 and I was put on that dosage and then they reduced it. I got 10 eggs out of it. Hope this helps

ok ... hi girls.. i had my egg retrieval i got 1 pne egg and unfortunately ot over fertilized... devistated doesnt cover it. thank you for your support and kind words... who ever reads this dont be discouraged as its luck of the draw ... unfortunately i was an unfortunate one xx good luck to you all ,

Just for you ladies out there that are i my position and exhausted the nhs tries .. Im going to cyprus for my next treatment with doner eggs! its €5000 ALL in and they use the best equipment etc along with egg doners who are between the age of 18-24 year olds they guarantee at least 10 eggs! good luck to you guys xxx
