Pre-cancerous or abnormal uterine cells

Following a hysteroscopy to take out uterine scarring and a sub mucosal fibroid, my biopsy showed I had pre-cancerous cells.

Please has anyone on here experienced this and gone on to successfully have a baby?

Tired and exhausted of dealing with one complication after another. When I’m in a dark place, a part of me wonders if this is a sign to call it a day?

TIA xx

I haven't experienced this, but I'm so sorry to hear that and I wanted to say that I know how you feel in terms of sometimes feeling I need to just give up. This process is absolutely brutal, and definitely exhausting, you're so right.

I hope you feel brighter tomorrow. Sending hugs xxx

hi

Be happy they have identified early 👍. Altogether it’s frightening, please stay positive, sometimes we need to jump these hurdles in order to get to where we need to get to….. never give up hope …

Thanks Izzyxx, I will try to stay positive. It wouldn’t have been caught if I wasn’t trying for a baby. I just need to get through this phase xx

Hey sorry to hear about tour diagnosis. It's great that they have found anything early....that's the key for a good prognosis. I guess it's difficult to say anything more as to haven't elaborated on the diagnosis. I had pre-cancerous cells of the cervix which is really common. Had treatment and all has been OK since. Good luck.xx

I know of a work colleague , only a year and half ago who actually got diagnosed with cervical cancer. She had radiotherapy and treatment, never thought she’d be able to get pregnant again and gave up . 6 months later she was pregnant naturally , baby was born in Dec just past.

That’s amazing, so happy for her!!

I am glad it was caught early, it means we have to put our plans on hold for a year so.

Thank you all for your responses, I just needed to vent and get some perspective 🥰

I know, such a great story. It was totally by accident too as she was sure she’d never get pregnant . She said she literally had sex once …. I mean I’d love that 🙈 But her story gave me hope, and hope is what keeps us going x

hi it’s a scary thing to hear, sending you a massive hug 🤗

I had pre cancerous cells (CIN 3 which is apparently the worst kind) removed mid treatment via letz and the biopsy after showed they got them all and subsequent smear showed the all clear. I went on to get pregnant via IVF within the year, full term no cervical complications. I’ve had another smear since a few weeks ago and still all clear. It did delay my treatment at the time of finding the cells by about 6 months but I’m glad they found it early as if it wasn’t for fertility treatment it might have taken longer and been a different outcome so with hindsight I’m quite grateful in a way although was so worried and frustrated at the time xx

Amazing!! That’s such good news.

Thank you for sharing, that’s so reassuring.

I’m due to have surgery in a few weeks to take out out the pre-cancerous cells, will have a biopsy and then another biopsy in 6 months time to be sure they’ve all be removed.

I’m focusing on the things are within my control in the meantime and keeping busy xx

Hey

So sorry you’re having to deal with one issue after another… it can be hard to keep getting back up after each time, but you’ve got this! As women, our strength and resilience is massively overlooked at times! Things will get better though… 💪🏼

As for the abnormal cells, I had the same issue in 2018. I had CIN3 just like the lady above. It’s not a nice process to get rid of them (I had LEEP which was uncomfortable but no worse than all the IVF procedures I’ve had since! Lol). All was fine though and my smears have come back clear since then.

I’ve had three rounds of IVF so far, several Drs have told me that my previous LEEP treatment has no impact whatsoever on my ability to conceive through IVF. The only minor issue has been in ET, when they’ve had to be more mindful of scar tissue on my cervix. There’s a note of it on my medical record and they account for it each time. It has no other impact on anything else fertility related 😁

I hope that puts your mind at rest a little. Take a little time to get yourself looked after and back to great physical health, and fingers crossed the next round works for you!! Wishing you all the best xx

Hi Hope6108,

Thanks for your kind message, and you are right, we are much stronger than we realise. It’s reassuring to know that abnormal cells can be treated without affecting fertility.

I’ve promised myself I will Google LEEP and stop there, before my searches spiral out of control lol.

I admire your strength and positivity and hope you get the good news you deserve.

I will go with the flow, taking things a day at a time, keeping the faith that it will all work out xx
