Abnormal embryos, losing hope :(

We just got our pgt-a results back, both of our embryos were abnormal. This is our third cycle and I just feel like it's pointless trying again. Every time, we get 15+ eggs. My egg reserves and really good for my age- I'm 38, and my partners results always come back fine. Surely we need to get a good one eventually? I'm worried I'll never get a good one :(

Feeling sorry for myself today.

Have you tried dhea?

No, but I've read lots about it. Have you used it?

I had all abnormal embryos until my last 4th cycle. I used dhea for 3 months religiously 75 mg and did ovarian rejuvenation which resulted in 2 high grade embryos. I really believe both of these contributed to finally getting two good embryos. I would order it ASAP.

What is ovarian rejuvenation? I've never heard of it but I am guessing that at 45 I might need it!

I’m sorry you had bad news

I did PGT last year on my secondIVF cycle when I was 36 and Didn’t get any normals either

I decided not to test again - I changed my protocol to natural modified IVF so instead of collecting 14 eggs we targeted just 2 - both became top quality blastocysts and I’m now 11 weeks with twins

I’m sceptical now about PGT to be honest

Would you risk trying a transfer without it?

So bizarre, I literally was just reading about that. This is the second time we've gotten. 2 embryos from first 17, then 15, eggs. It gives me hope that there's different types of ivf out there that could be more suited to me. Thank you x

Hi, do they grade them prior to PGS testing ? Have you tried ubiquinol? I have taken it 3-4 months prior to my latest cycle and amazed for my first ever Top Grade embryo. Unfortunately my clinic so not offer PGS testing so we will just have to hope for the best.

Never heard of that. Yeah, we had 4bb and 3cb. So not amazing but we were hopeful.

Ubiquinol is the purest form of coq10 which helps with egg quality. All my embryos were generally b or c. 3-4 months in ubiquinol I got my first ever grade a.

This is worth a read, worth a try x

I feel your pain, I had 32 eggs retrieved, 23 mature, 15 fertilized, 8 good looking blastocyst and only one healthy post PGT ... I did my transfer last month and it did not work😕 I am starting injections for my 5th cycle tonight, I have the same worries as you, will this ever work, will I get any healthy embryos? Do I continue or 🛑 so many worries ... I just turned 39 a month ago, feeling like my time is up 😕

We just got pregnant naturally... Ended after 4 days. Went to the miscarriage specialist we're under, paid £480 for various blood tests/intralipid infusion, then the next day the lines just faded away. So fed up with it all. Keep reading miracle stories of women getting pregnant with just one egg and I can't understand why none of my 15+ every cycle are any good. Feel like they're all duds. Not fair that some people have it so easy, really isn't a fair world at all 😔

Oh I am sorry, my first ever pregnancy was natural :( I lost it at 6 weeks :( it is so hard!

I have been through IVF for over 3,5 years now... it is such a crap process... I also often think, why me, what did I do to deserve this crap ... we just have to be hopeful, positive and keep trying as we do not have any other choice :(

Look after yourself x once again I am very sorry and I wish you all the luck for the future cycle x

Even though my partners sperm test came back with high numbers and good motility, the second opinion I got from a different specialist suggested we might want to get a sperm dna fragmentation test as the quality of the DNA in the sperm can affect the quality of the embryo. It's going to cost around £500 and I can't say Mr Koala365 is too keen because he thinks there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with his swimmers but I think it might be worth it for us just to exclude that as a possibility and treat it if it is an issue. Not sure if this is something for the two of you as well.
