2nd failed FET solo journey 😢💔 seeking support/questions/tests I can ask for? TIA

I am a solo lady, who froze eggs and am now using donor sperm to try and have a baby. The pain of another failed transfer is heart wrenching and this is probably the only place  where someone truly understands those feelings and pain😢

I am trying to figure out what I can ask my consultant on our follow up call/tests etc

I was on 20mg steroids, 25mg levothyroxine, 3 Lubion, 2 cyclogest, 1 Clexane, 3 progynova and estrodial patch and had the HCG shot on transfer day.

I have no none fertility issues as never tried naturally. Blood work looked good. I had the ERA trio test which indicated slightly low lactobacillus. I asked for TSH test and this was slightly elevated due to estrogen from previous round so have been taking levothyroxine. Clinic does not believe in NK cells testing but I asked for steroids this round. Aside from PGA testing, what can I do/ask? I would be grateful for any suggestions/ ideas.

Wishing all positive vibes and outcome on this journey xxx

Hi, I’m also solo and started my first IVF cycle this evening (at 44). I’m very new to this game, so I’m afraid I don’t have much advice - but just wanted to wish you masses of luck. I hope you’re ok ❤️

Thank you for your kind wishes, feeling very sad and low from another failed round. Best of luck to you too and feel free to message if you want to chat, doing this solo is harder and lonelier at times ❤️

I’m so sorry, feels awful with each chance snatched away, I feel you 😞 may I say that’s quite a cocktail of medication you’re on. Have they looked at whether all that is needed at the same time as could it be overwhelming your body all at once? X

Thanks for you message, it was increased from the first round and I will query it with them to see if it was too much, thanks for the suggestion. It really does feel awful, I find the pain of that loss so hard. 😢 xxx

Just wanted to say good luck for the future Have you thought about joining a support group single women facebook.com/groups/singlew... ?

Take care

Janet

Thanks Janet. Unfortunately I can’t join a facebook group as it reveals my identity. I don’t want people that may know me in the group, to know what I am doing and tell others as I have kept this very quiet and private.

Really sorry to hear this. I have some experience of doing this solo (for a time - my backstory is frankly insane) and I remember how hard the disappointments are to take when you're on your own. It sounds like you've had lots of tests already, so it may be just that situation where it comes down to the dreaded 'numbers game'. Do you have any more frozen embryos? Was your doctor happy with the fertilisation rate? (If not, it's worth changing donors if you're going to try a new fresh cycle, if that's possible, as you may have better luck with another. I really wasn't compatible with my first donor, it seemed!) .

Have you had many internal investigations, e.g. hysteroscopy? Just to rule out any structural issues that might be preventing implantation. It's difficult to know when to go down that route though, as sometimes we need to do quite a few transfers to strike gold 💔 xx

Thank you for your message. I just read your story and I was really happy to hear the outcome of your challenging journey. I do have a frozen embie and after my first round, I changed donors just in case. I had a hysteroscopy as I had cell changes from my smear. So they put dye in and looked and the consultant said it all looked good and there were no concerns of impacting pregnancy. She said it all look good down there, and even showed me the hole that the baby would come from. Nevertheless I will ask the consultant if there is anything else he can check, thanks for the suggestion. Xxx

Not sure I have any advice on next steps as it sounds like you have covered a lot of different things but just wanted to say that I’m thinking of you. I realise you want to keep things private but do you have a couple of trusted friends to talk to? Also keep posting on here, people here get it!

I would say go for another round, it does seem with IVF it’s a numbers game. Wishing you lots of luck. Xx

Thanks for your kind message, I do have a few friends that know and they are supportive, for which I am grateful. And I really appreciate this forum of support, as you said people here get it like no other.

I am definitely going for the next round sooner rather than later. It’s just hard to know if you stick to the same protocol as nothing is is identified as an issue can you get a different result due to it being a different embryo?
