hi everyone, first time posting and I am feeling so lost…
1st round- 20 eggs collected, none made to day 5.
2nd round- 18 eggs collected, 1 made it to fresh transfer but bled heavily on 10dpt. Game over.
3rd round- 31 eggs retrieved, 27 mature (I asked this time), 21 fertilised, 1 made it to day 5 and was transferred (grade 4AA)
I am day 9 days post transfer and have been SO anxious so took a test today, BFN.
1) Is there any hope that I may actually be pregnant & it’s too early to tell? Or am I just waiting for the bleed again? I just want to know.
2) It’s a 6 hour round trip to get to my nearest NHS fertility clinic. If i bleed tomorrow or Friday, is there any reason that I MUST attend the clinic for my blood test on Saturday? I’m sure I can get a local blood test. As this is my last NHS round I won’t be having more treatment at my current clinic.
3) anyone got any thoughts on my numbers? Are they terrible? I’m 37, have PCOS (I had no idea until last year) and we had ICSI. Husband is fit & healthy but slightly low sperm motility.
Thankyou for reading my essay! Hope you are all doing ok and keeping the faith!

I always believe that there is hope and that there are possibilities, what I do not know is if you have thought about going private..... I for example have had to have hysteroscopy, hematology tests, visits to the immunologist....
There are many factors in fertility to take into account and the treatment that works for one person may not work for another, that's why they have to do multiple tests....
It is a frustrating process at times but do not lose hope....
Hi - I just wanted to say your egg numbers are great; and looking at your third round, safe to assume majority are mature at collection too. I read that the sperm takes over from day 3; and you did do ICSI so I'm inclined to think that it may be a sperm issue. Is your husband taking any supplements? I made mine take CoQ10, DHEA and fish oil. We only managed 2-3 blasts per round, but my egg numbers are low to begin with (7-8). Perhaps look into those supplements in your next round?
Unfortunately in my experience, if it's still a negative on day 9 it does not look good (I have had 4 transfers: 1 chemical and 1 early loss - I am an early tester). You could do a HCG test to confirm this. My previous clinic does blood test on day 9, urine on day 11.
You do hear of people getting negatives at this stage that go on to become positive later - usually due to late implantation, but I think usually by day 9 you should be able to see something - I don't want to give you false hope.
If you're bleeding before test day then it could be that your progesterone levels aren't high enough - with the NHS they don't tend to test on the day of transfer so often don't know. Most private clinics do, so they can up your dose if needed.
You seem to be getting high numbers of eggs but not too many embryos, so if you decide to go for another private round I would discuss this with them and focus on fewer eggs but better quality. They can give you different stims which can help to mature the eggs too, which is often the reason for lower egg to blastocyst ratio.
There are a few posts on here at the moment about supplements to help with egg quality - antioxidants are most crucial for eggs, so things like Ubiquinol and NAC supplements can help, smoothies with whole milk, banana, flax seed, chia seed and blueberry powder can boost your oxidents too. There is an excellent book called "It Starts With The Egg" which goes through everything in supporting egg health (although take it with a pinch of salt as it can be quite overwhelming to try and make all those changes)
Hey, I can understand how you're feeling especially after 3 cycles. You got a good number of eggs and a lot fertilised in the last round. As VeeVee said, it could be the sperm. My situation is the same. I'm 37, have pcos, I get a large number of eggs but my other half as a sperm issue. We've thankfully got a little boy who's now 3 from ICSI so it can happen don't lose hope. My first round I got 22 eggs, 8 fertilised and we got 3 blastocysts but only one top grade which resulted in our son and worked first time. We're trying for our second now but the other two blastocysts didn't implant. I'm day 7 last 6dt and was negative today, I know it hasn't worked. We also tried another full cycle and out of 27 eggs, we didn't get any blastocysts. We're going to try another cycle. My husband is also on all the vitamins, he's also joined the gym and eating healthy so I'm praying that will help. Also getting him to have cupping done which could help. Good luck, you will get your baby soon xx
Thanks for replying, interesting that a couple of folk have suggested it could be a sperm issue! We didn’t really consider that because it’s me who has had to lose 4.5 stone to get my bmi down to 28, and although we are both runners, my hubby just ran a marathon in 3 hrs 18 with no proper training! 😅
It sounds like we are in a similar boat with our age, PCOS etc. it’s heartening to hear that you have had success with your 3 yr old. Best of luck for the future round xx
