Help! I think I might have accidentally taken an extra progesterone pessary!

Hello, I'm currently 4dp5dt and on 2x400mg cyclogest pessaries, one morning, one evening. I have had a total brain fail and just took my evening pessary and then suddenly panicked that I had maybe just done one an hour or so ago.... I genuinely have no idea (I'm in the middle of trying to meet a work deadline and my brain is absolutely fried). If I have accidentally taken 2 this evening what impact will that have? I'm trying to tell myself that too much is probably better than too little but trying not to freak out!

Hi if it makes you feel any better I was on 3 pessaries a day and I have seen some women were on 4 a day so I wouldn't worry. I had slight spotting at 5 weeks pregnant and my doctor at the clinic advised she wasn't worried but if I continued spotting she would have upped my pessaries luckily only spotted for an hour and it stopped. There was also an occasion I forgot to take my pessary once and my babies were fine - I had twins. Try not to stress and if your worried I'm sure you clinic should have an out of hours number to contact in case of emergencies etc maybe try and give them a call for peace of mind x

Hello,

100% been there. We take so many medications for so long it’s hard not to. I’ve found getting a medication dispenser helpful as I could set it up for the week and then if I wasn’t sure I’d just check my box.

I was on the same dose as you plus lubion injections. My clinic told me that you can’t really overdose of progesterone

All the best with your cycle xxx

with the pessaries its probably better to accidentally double up if your not sure than miss one so I wouldn’t worry 🤗but either way one won’t make a difference to have forgotten or done twice 🤗 just carry on with them now (I set an alarm on my phone and do t turn it off (only the sound) until I’ve actually inserted it so I don’t forget 🤣 cos I’m a nightmare at remembering!)

Echoing what everyone else has said. It won’t have done any harm. I also set alarms on my phones to remind me to do it and I also tick off on the meds plan from the consultant. Best of luck for a positive response 🤞🏽

If concerned talk to your clinic on Monday. I'm on three suppositories of progesterone a day plus progesterone injections if that helps.

I use the take your pills app to make sure I don't miss anything. As a fail safe I also mark up my cyclogest wrappers with the day and time I'm meant to take it so that I don't miss any or double up.
