I think AF is here at 8 DPT despite taking progesterone. Help.

I'm 8 DPT and see spots of blood in my pantyliner. I'm taking utrogest 3 times per day. Surely the progesterone should be supporting my lining. Did anyone experience this before? It's kind of weird as i can feel that AF wants to come down. Strange feeling. Could it be that the dose is too low?

Hey, on my first fresh transfer I took 800mg cyclogest and bled before OTD. On my subsequent cycles I upped to 1200mg and didn't bleed until after OTD (BFP on FET and BFN on next fresh). However on my BFP round I bled from 6-13 wks whilst on progesterone. Hope all goes well for you. Check with the clinic. You could increase it? Good luck xx

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm on 600mg and will ask them to increase it next time.

They can increase it for you now if there’s still time until your OTD, that’s what they did with them when I reported bleeding.

Thank you sweetie. They have prescribed another medication but I think I'm out at this point. 9 dpt and BFN. Hugs.

I’m on 800 mg and always end up bleeding too.

Oh no....Did you speak about it with your specialist?

Yes but honestly he doesn’t seem to be so worried, but at the end I also only had negatives except one where I bled too. I have low AMH, endo, and removed tubes so I don’t want to worry you. He say that there is enough time to implant

I will talk to my doctor. I need some explanations. I wish you all the best.

Sounds like a good idea. Feel free to share 😊 always keen to hear solutions. Not sure I have the most service minded doctor.

I always bled before OTD on failed rounds. My consultant explained that progesterone alone isn’t always enough to prevent this happening, your body just knows it isn’t pregnant and particularly if you have a fairly short natural cycle your period is just coming as it would because all your hormone levels have dropped. So sorry it didn’t work x

Thank you for this info. I suspected that that was the case.

You could probably test now to get your result as bleeding can be a few different things. I mostly always bleed before test day (had 12 transfers in total 8 with progesterone support 1 was miscarriage and one successful and usually start bleeding 7-8dpt) for our next round we are adding in lubion injection in case I have an absorption problem that should keep me topped up the consultant says, it’s £150 extra but I’m thinking it’s worth a go…. Still TBC for me as I’ve not started that cycle yet just paid the bill lol xx

The 150 pounds sounds worth it. Thank you for sharing your experience. The weird thing in my case is that it has happened already in the past and my previous doctor never mentioned that my progesterone levels were low. Something to raise again. Hugs
