I have taken a break here for a few months when waiting for my hysteroscopy result of RIF. I am still reading your posts but have not been active at all. I’m resetting my mind and my body to be back in January for our 3rd round with the NHS.
I really wanted to do another egg collection but they have refused and told me it is not necessary to put my body at risk since we have some embryos left (ok-ish quality) and they have not found anything at all with the recurring implantation failure investigation (Hysteroscopy and blood test). So I’m back in the game this time round with a medicated cycle and FET with Lubion and Clexane added. I previously had natural FET, hope this makes a difference.
A few questions I hope to have an answer prior to the nurse strike in Jan (because they move my information session so close to it now it gives me anxiety it will delay things)
-At what point in the cycle are you supposed to have a baseline scan in a medicated cycle? Before or after 1st day of period?
-When should I start the injection of Clexane?
Lubion stung a bit last time, I heart Clexane is worse and bruised badly..
-Can Clexane work without baby aspirin? I asked my clinic about this and they said both are blood thinning and won’t give me baby aspirin. Did you have Clexane alone?
Thanks a lot for your support and hope everyone has a lovely rest they deserve in 2022.

Hey, we are doing a frozen transfer at the moment. Day one was the 23rd Dec and our scan is being done on the 3rd Jan. I think it’s normally around Day 13 ish.
You start the clexane the evening of your transfer. I didn’t find it particularly painful but it does leave a bruise. I didn’t have baby aspirin either. Hope this is helpful xx
I don’t take anything to control when my bleed is, I just start with estrogen on day one of my natural bleed, if my scan is ok they take bloods and give me a date to start progesterone and transfer is normally about ten days latter. I did ERA so my transfer window is 12 hours later than normal then I start claxane the evening of transfer xx
Hi I do find clexane a bit stingy and did have a few bruises but it’s totally bearable and the clinics gave me a few tips to reduce the bruising ( I found injecting it slowly the last ne that helped best for me).
For your time scales for FET it depends if your clinic is going a down reg or not ( ie have given or are going to give you prostrap) as I’ve found other clinics very different to my own for FET timings as we do prostrap day 21 and then scan about 10 days later which is usually day 2or 3 of next bleed. Wishing you lots of luck xx
Thank you Twiglet. That actually reminds me that they mentioned something on day 21 in my last phone call, which the rescheduled appointment will delay me another month! Urgggg I’m so annoyed with the process taken by the NHS. We are at the end of the long road with them so we took the decision to carry on one last time
if it’s the down reg protocol with prostrap my timings are normally
Phone on period, Day 21 prostrap, 10 days later baseline scan (normally bleed at this point) if baseline scan link g thin enough then start estrogen scan again a few weeks later to check lining thick enough and date booked for transfer (usually the following week) and at at t pessaries and lubion ( days before transfer and clexane day of transfer. Transfer is normally about 6 weeks from the day 21 prostrap is how I normally plan for it roughly.
I’m in Scotland so might be done differently elsewhere but hope this helps and good luck!! Xx
hello I had my first scan before my period just checking for fibroids or anything else in the womb that might cause a problem. I then got my period started meds and was scanned 10 days later to see how my womb lining was looking.
I started clexane when I started all other meds just once my period arrived. Clexane is nippy and does cause bruising but the bruises for me weren’t sore just didn’t look the best.
I’m not sure if clexane works alone or not I always took it with aspirin also xxx
for my natural FET before I did have a baseline scan around day 7 of my period and started to take cyclogest on day 10th. This round time they switch me to medicated and I haven’t done any medicated cycle since my egg collection was also a short protocol after period day 1. I’m bruised easily, I’ll watch out for some tips with regard to injecting Clexane. Thank you
hi I start my next FET when my period arrives day 1 also having clexane this time around . I’ve been told to start my oestrogen tablets then & the clexane injections from day 1 too but in the evenings . No mention of taking baby asprin alongside this , I did ask my consultant but she did not say.
You usually ring your clinic on day 1 of period & they will book in your baseline scan for a number of days later.
