My wife (36) and I (33) have been struggling to conceive with unexplained infertility. We started IVF back in July and had a fresh transfer followed by a double FET last month, sadly both attempts ended in an early miscarriage before week 6.
We started with 7 embyros and now we have 3 left now (1 didn't survive the thaw). Taking estrogen, prenatal vitamins and progesterone (pessaries + lubion) but no other meds upto this point.
Want the next one to work but we're worried there could be other factors at play and don't want to waste our embryo's.
We've not had any tests following the miscarriages, has anyone been in a similar situation after 2 attempts? Would really appreciate any advice, both of us are finding this to be really difficult.

Sorry to read about recent 2 miscarriage- the important thing is not to blame yourselves or give up hope .Keep talking to each other and be kind to yourselves Speak to your clinic they may suggest some blood tests For more info on this take a look at tommys.org " Recurrent miscarriage"
Hi Domino. This so unfortunate, and sorry to hear it. Sopmetimes due to low progesterone levels. Low dose soluble aspirin or heparin sometimes offered to ensure good blood supply to womb and the lining, and to help prevent any clot formation. Sometimes advisable to have a hysteroscopy to check the womb out thoroughly and take a biopsy of the lining to check it out. Good luck with however you both proceed next time. Diane
hi, my husband and I have had four miscarriages. After the second, we learnt that I had a blocked tube and my husband slightly abnormal morphology. After surgery, we started IVF, we had one BFN and one chemical from two fresh rounds. After the chemical we had several additional blood tests through the clinic to check for clotting disorders, my general levels and to assess further issues. We then had an early miscarriage with spontaneous pregnancy, after which we asked my GP to refer me to the recurrent miscarriage clinic via Tommys (i think you need three to qualify but check). Just after receiving the referral we fell pregnant again from FET and I’m now nearly 16 weeks.
There are several factors that can contribute including: egg/sperm quality and the tests that can be done for those, the blood tests i mentioned and if your wife hasn’t had the hysteroscopy then definitely look into that. As Janet said Tommy’s is a great resource, but definitely talk these things through with your clinic before next round. Hope that helps!
