Low progesterone

Hello,

Does anyone have experience with low progesterone levels. I just completed my second embryo transfer and it did not go as planned. I started bleeding moderately day 5 post transfer and has not stopped. I believe this was due to low progesterone levels. Have anyone had experience with this? How did you solve it? Or could it be something else? Feeling quite deflated.

Best,

Hi lovely,

I always had very low progesterone levels and the first 2 transfers bled before otd.

Then I started having my levels checked on transfer day (at a new clinic) and went from 2 x pessaries on transfer 1 to 3 x pessaries and 2 x lubion on transfer 6 (which was successful).

I would definitely ask for it to be checked next time - from what I hear they can’t over prescribe progesterone as your body just absorbs what it needs so better to have more than less xx

Hiya :),

I tested my levels the day before transfer and was a good level. Then on day 7 post transfer had dropped a lot. I was on Lutinus 200mg x3 (so 200mg 3 times a day).

When did you start correcting the progesterone levels? Sorry for all the questions.

I also have endomitrios so its probably going to a challenge as it is.

Sorry what does otd stand for? New here 🙈

No worries!

OTD is official test day 😬

I started correcting it on transfer 3 but it still took another 4 to actually get pregnant.

Xx

The most effective (but least pleasant) method of progesterone is progesterone in oil which is intramuscular injections. On the more painful side but I used them after I had problems with my levels taking pessaries and it made a huge difference. Most clinics don’t use them in the first instance because they aren’t the nicest but they do work very well.

Thats so interesting, I've read some studies that indicate that gel is the easiest way for the body to absorb. For my next transfer I will suggest the injections because my body did not absorb any progesterone it seems. Thanks for your feedback :). Did you see an improvement with the injections?
