Hi Everyone, sorry in advance if TMI but in need of advice...
I had what i thought was my period but it was different to normal. Mostly clots and not much fresh bleeding (normally get a couple of days of fresh bleeding combined with clots.) This time bleeding seemed lighter then normal but passed lots of clots, over a good few days more then normal some of which were fairly large. Also passed what looked like grey tissue with cramps / low back pain. Did a pregnancy test - BFN. I have low progesterone which my Consultant thinks is affecting successful implantation and causing spotting. Concerned as awaiting HSG Wednesday and not sure if i should be contacting the clinic or my GP about this prior to the procedure? Don't want to waste anyones time if this is normal with low progesterone. Just wondered if anyone had any similar experiences or knows what this could mean? Could it just be the low progesterone?
Thanks all, wishing everyone success with their journey xxx

No, nothing yet. Still going through investigations (been 6 months now!) Expecting to start Clomid if HSG and ultrasound scans are normal. Both next week xxx
Grey tissue does sound like something from a possible pregnancy. Only reason I say this is in my miscarriages I passed dark grey looking tissue. Hopefully you'll get to the bottom of this soon. Hope the hsg goes well 💗💗🤗😘
Makes sense to me as iv said. Maybe the low progesetetone is the answer to you not implanting I believed this for my early miscarriages started using progesterone cream took three months the day I got my bfp I went to drs told them I was using the cream and begged them for pessaries I'm currently 7 wks 6 days, although things are progressing slowly it's the furthest iv got since my daughter 4 years ago. Wish you luck also. Keep me updated hun 💗💗🤗😘
Hi Poppy. I agree that this sounds like it could be a chemical. I had one in July. One positive hpt before the bleeding started, none during or after. It was also mainly clots with only very light bleeding. I also have a progesterone problem. Mine starts high then dips and dips and dips again until af. The chemical was as a result of a small dose of progesterone. It wasn't high enough for me to sustain a pregnancy, and my body quickly killed off any effect it was having after the first month. 11 months of pushing for the right progesterone and 4 months after the chemical, I have finally been prescribed cyclogest.
Having the heartache of being prescribed the wrong thing, ask lots of questions about what clomid will do to help you, and how this impacts on your particular problem. I was told clomid wouldn't be of much help to me, but it sounds as if my progesterone issues are different to yours so likely treated differently.
As for the HSG, you might want to call the clinic on Monday and tell them that you think you've had a chemical but you'd still like to go through with the procedure and is this OK. Tell them you've had several negative hpt since the bleeding and clotting stopped so there's no chance of a viable pregnancy. Good luck xx
Thank you so much for your advice, really helpful. I was concerned about a chemical as a possibility but felt I may have been being a bit paranoid as pregnancy test was negative. I think we ladies are very in tune with our bodies and know when something isn't right. I don't like wasting the doctors time as I know how pressured the NHS service is but will discuss with Consultant. Wishing you every success with your journey xxx
