It can depend - in my circumstances, I had an nonviable scan but not fully missed yet at around 7 weeks and I stopped my meds and it took about a week for the miscarriage to start naturally.
I don't know if you've had a miscarriage before, but it is worth knowing that this is likely to be more than a period; did they help prepare you for what might happen and your options around medical or natural miscarriage?
While my 6+ week miscarriage was less physical than my 11+ week one, it was still worse than a period and it will take you a bit of time to recover.
Look after yourself and this forum is always here for advice and support xx
Thanks for your reply & yes it’s my first and I am totally unprepared for what to expect. They said the sac was 1.1cm and do I want surgery or natural. I said natural and they said ok, that was it. Now I am just waiting & I am nervous to be honest 😞Please can you let me know how long the 6+ week one lasted in terms of bleeding?
Really appreciate your response and support.
Everyone here is so amazing 😭 feel so lucky to find this platform xxxx
Every one is different it can take a week or 2 - make sure you have people around you that can give you support . If still unsure [ or bleeding does not start ] call your clinic / nurse for guidance .Take care of yourself
I also had a missed miscarriage recently and it took me 5 days after I stopped Cyclogest and Enoxaparin to miscarry naturally. Mine stopped developing at week 8 but I only found out at my 12 weeks scan. After the miscarriage it took me 5 weeks to have the next period. The miscarriage bleed itself lasted 2 days more heavy and the rest was medium - light bleed. I know how you feel it’s not easy but try to be hopeful 🙏
I’m so sorry for your loss. It really depends, all bodies are different. I was slightly further along but for me it took 11 long weeks to get my first period after. I tested positive for HCG for a very, very long time after.
Hey Kit, so sorry to read this. I too lost mine at 6.5 weeks this month. I stopped taking all the pessaries on a Monday and started to bleed the following Wednesday (this week), light at first but then very heavy and painful yesterday and overnight.
Like other posts say, everyone/pregnancy is different - I had another in March at around 5.5 weeks and that wasnt too heavy or painful and lasted a couple days.
Just make sure you have some pain meds and plenty of pads, and support around you. Sending big hugs and love at this truly sad time xxx
I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s a long wait for the scan to then have that news. I had bad news at the 12 wk scan. I had stopped taking the meds on the Friday and had a miscarriage on the Monday. You’ll get through this. Be gentle with yourself. Sending love x
Sorry for your missed miscarriage, I had 3. The first and second for me was 6-7 weeks, with the third one only 3 weeks and got pregnant too. Anything can happen! Hope you have your rainbow soon 🌈
