Hi Ladies,

I had a miscarriage 2 weeks before christmas and was bleeding on and off for at least 4 weeks, then it stopped...

Then i think my period has started nearly 2 weeks ago and i have a very odd bleeding... :(

No flow, only when wipe... (sorry) and every time it gets really light and i think its stopping its quite a bit of fresh blood again... every 2nd day more or less...

Is this normal? I cant move on until my period finihing and can start trying again but it doesnt seem to stop... 😭

Hi, sorry for your loss. It’s quite usual for it to take several cycles for your period to return to normal. I had acupuncture to help get mine back on track. If you’re worried maybe contact your clinic. My second period was unusually light and it turns out I developed a cyst. My clinic said it’s common after a miscarriage and with ivf. Fortunately the cyst went on it’s own. Wishing you all the best ❤️x

Hi, I'm so sorry for your loss. As Muzick said, it can take a while to get back to normal unfortunately. Sorry to ask the question but have you had a scan to make sure everything is okay/clear after your miscarriage (I'm not sure what avenue you chose in the end, sorry)? Sometimes bleeding can be a bit irregular if the miscarriage process wasn't 100% complete.

My first period after my ERPC was very light and I was concerned but my second was much more normal. I also had a saline scan with my clinic to make sure there were no adverse effects from the procedure, which they wanted me to do before my next round, and that confirmed everything was okay despite the light period.

I hope everything goes okay for you xx

Thank you very much for your reply...I have decided on medical miscarriage as its the closest to natural... i was bleeding for about 4 weeks after, most of it was quite light...

Then i had the scan 4 weeks after the miscarriage, they said it was all clear but she has seen a little cyst...

I have been told it will be irregular the only thing what worries me is that it keeps going very light, hardly anything and then back to more fresh blood...

I have called the EPU today and they have booked me in for another scan...

I just really tired of keep waiting for something before we can try again... Our cycles are always delayed for one reason or another and waiting always for something gives me so bad anxiety... :( sorry i have ranted on, just feeling so hopeless... :(

I'm so sorry, I completely understand how awful the delays and waiting games can be. No need to apologise for ranting, I hope it helps to write it out! It can definitely feel like one thing after another (I'm in a similar boat right now after my last failed round and it's really making me anxious at times). One thing that kind of helps me is knowing that our bodies cannot be rushed and you want to make sure you are in the best possible position before going again. As frustrating as it is waiting.

I'm glad the EPU is going to see you again. I hope they have some answers for you. In the meantime, I know it's so super hard but please be kind to yourself and I hope your body settles soon. You've been through a lot :( xx

Hi MagicTourmaline. So sorry to hear of your miscarriage, and I hope you have plenty of support just now. It can take up to 3 months for your period to return to what is normal for you. Just that your lining is learning to build itself up again. Hope all soon settles. Diane
