Bit of a sad topic but was wondering if anyone had has a missed miscarriage when their period started again. I was told after having medical management that it would be 4-6 weeks but I’m about 5 days away from 6 weeks and don’t feel it coming at all! Has anyone had to wait longer then the 4-6 weeks?.

Hi Simba, so sorry for your loss. I had a MMC in March.. my period arrived four weeks later after my D&C but I’ve read on other forums (the miscarriage association) from other women who waited up to 8 weeks for it to return. My cycles after my MMC also changed and it took a couple of months for them to regulate again. If you’re worried, maybe give your doctor a call. Take lots of care xx
Maybe I should have posted this earlier. It has literally just decided to show up. But thank you for replying sorry for your loss. Hope all goes well for you! X
Did you take the tablets or have a d&c I literally have just been told at 10w3 that no heartbeat 😢 even though I have full on symptoms and had a scan at 7w2 and saw a lovely heartbeat I'm so distraught I don't know what to do. I have taken first tablet and have to go into hospital Friday.
I’m so so so sorry hun, my heart breaks 💔I know how you feel, I’ve had the same loss in March. I decided to have a d&c in the hope to get over it ‘quicker’ from a physical point of view. My body didn’t recognise the miscarriage so I didn’t want to wait so many weeks and didn’t want to pass it at home 💔(sorry if TMI). If you’re given the option to choose, I’d strongly suggest you to do a d&c. It will be all over much sooner and you can move forward. I promise, it will get better with time ❤️Sending love and hugs 🤗 xxx
It’s just day surgery. I went in at 7am and was out of the hospital (after rest and checks) at 4pm. Not so bad in terms of timings (it was also the second day of lockdown in March so they didn’t have all the Covid protocol processes ready, think now it will be smoother) xxx
I didn’t take any tablets they just put the pessaries in. I did the two weeks of waiting and nothing happened then they gave me the choice of what to do next which I choice medical management. I’m so sorry for you loss it’s so hard I think it must be worse with a heartbeat rather then them just finding an empty sack. But you will get through it! I found out end of October and I still get emotional if I have to talk about it but it’s getting better and it will for you too! X
I had a MMC at 10 weeks, but baby had died at 9. I had medical management because I wanted to be able to move on. Bled for 5 weeks, then period for over 3. Now my period is well over a week late and I know I’m not pregnant.
Lots of people have mentioned their first period, but not their second and then I came across your post.
How are your cycles now? I feel like I’m in limbo and I just hate waiting.
Hey sorry I have only just seen this. I’m sorry for you loss I wish we didn’t have to do through this. My 2nd period came normally but I know some peoples periods can be messed up for a while after. I can’t say about my 3rd as I then started my ivf process again so I was taking some tablets to control when my period came. Not that it helped as I now have a cyst on my ovary so have to wait till next month. I hope it comes back soon! X
