Not sure what to make of my follicle sizes

Hi all,

I had my first stims scan today, day 8 of my cycle but this time I was on Clomid for 5 days and started Menopur 300 iu(?) 3 days ago. My previous cycle was cancelled as I only had one large follicle and a couple of tiny ones, the time before i had 6 of which 2 were small, but seems like my AMH dropped massively in the time between cycles, so they decided to reduce the overall amount of stims I'm on to try and coax out that one good egg.. (I was on ovaleap 225 and menopur 125 initially then upped to 300 last time)

At the scan today the nurse saw 7 small follicles, all under 7mm, which she said is small for this stage. There was one large thing which she thought was probably a cyst.

I've just been told to increase the menopur to 450.. but I'm not sure what to make of this. As I've only been taking menopur for 3 days does that mean I shouldn't be too worried that they're all small at the moment? Or does the fact they're upping it so much mean they're worried that none of them have grown more than that and actually I could end up with none? The nurse seems to be feeling quite sorry for me for this so I'm a bit perturbed to say the least!

Hi Ki. Oh dear, this isn't what you want to hear. I feel you need to trust your specialist and fingers crossed some of the smaller follicles will grow sufficiently. If they don't then you may have to abandon the egg collection so you don;t ;ose the cycle funding/ Good luck and I shall be thinking of you. Diane

Oh no, ideally how big would have been good after the number of days of meds I've had Diane?

It sounds like the clinic is doing the right thing to help them grow. Have hope and good luck xx
