Advise on progynova double dosing

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can advise me pls, my clinic is closed as it's Good Friday.

I had 2 embryos transferred yday and am on cyclogest am & pm, 2 progesterone injections am & pm, and progynova in pm only .... however today I got this awful feeling that I may have taken the 4 tabs of progynova in the am and again in pm just on autopilot as I'm on so may meds, scans, trying to work etc. I have a lot of progynova from two previous cancelled cycles so I can't count back to see what I have taken, I have since separated them out so I only take progynova in the evening but I'm terribly worried that the oestrogen will impact my embryos and chances in general. Has this ever happened to anyone? ... I feel so terrible for making this mistake, I don't think I did it tons of times, but I think I may have made the mistake a couple of times this week when I was doing my morning meds 😪

Hi hun, I won’t be able to give you a definite answer I am afraid but I would think forgetting would be worse than overtaking? And to get you an idea I was on estrogen 2mg tablets (which I think Progynova is as well right?) 4 a day and on patches extra so it shouldn’t be harmful as I am currently pregnant. Does your clinic has an emergency contact number? I know mine did for weekends etc. To settle your mind?

Hi Riri88,Thanks so so much for replying to me, knowing you were on extra estrogen does help me to think it's OK. Yes prog is estrogen that's right, I'm on 4tabs and I think I may have taken 8tabs am and pm possibly twice in error. But I'm not even sure, I got bad anxiety and started doubting myself but I'm feeling better now. I've been trying to research and I think there's a range of estrogen levels .... so hopefully it's OK. I will call the nurses on Tuesday. Thanks again and congrats on your pregnancy X J

Hi Orchid, I accidentally took twice the amount one day and the clinic said not to worry. You can’t change it now so don’t panic. As Riri said it’s better to take than not 😍😍😍😍

Hi Doglover, thank you for your reply, that's really good to know. You're right what's done is done and panicking isn't what my body needs. If I made the mistake hopefully a little spike won't cause any damage. Thanks again 🙂

I’m on progynova 2mg - two tablets three times a day ( 12 mg daily ) and prolutex- progesterone injection and cyclogest pesary twice a day . Im also a dr but not a ivf specialist — I really would not worry the least for this one off extra at this stage of your transfer !

Thanks so much for the advice Harley, all of this advice has really helped me to relax and I'm so grateful 🙏. It's such a confusing process and my first time trying a down reg cycle with FET, so many meds & they change as you move through the stages, it's hard to keep up! What determines why I'm on 8mg and you are on 12mg for example!? I've had a failed transfer and a cancelled one (on 6mg of prog), there's a certain amount of trial & error each time from what I understand as they don't always know exactly what will actually work ... it's a complicated process & only mother nature knows all the secrets! Wishing you the best of luck with your cycle 🙂

Hi, just wanted to update here, I tested today and got a very definite positive, my first ever time to see a positive test, I feel so so grateful and obviously if I did pop a few extra prognova in error it hasn't affected the outcome. While I'm happy I'm also so nervous of chemical pregnancy. We know too much too early it's so difficult! X
