I will be transferring a frozen blastocyst and last month I used 6 mg of progynova for 14 days to get my linning thick enough and to avoid folicle growth. Unfortunately, one folicle was too mature and I was told to stop taking medicines and wait for my next cycle and start over with a higher dose of progynova (8 mg). I have been doing this for a week now, but yesterday I realized I have only been taking 4 mg!! Started on 8 mg ASAP but am so worried I have fucked up this cycle now and that folicle growth will happen also this time… any similar experiences, where you started on too low dose in the beginning and it still have been successful?
Ovulation is not inhibited during the use of Progynova, follicle growth should be controlled by other medications not estrogen. You should have injections, spray or pills helping you to stop ovulation and follicles growth. If you haven't taken enough Progynova your lining will be too thin so not ready for transfer but if you are adjusting it you have enough time to correct that. Good luck with your transfer 🤗♥️🥰
thanks for answering. I feel a bit confused as the clinic only prescribed progynova and worries about folicle growth, they increased the dose for this reason. Do you know when in the cycle follicles start to grow and the best timing to inhibit them growing?
Now you confused me 😁😃 by saying that you don't have anything apart from Progynova. I would call the clinic today in case they missed something. Ask what are they prescribing for stopping ovulation. Look in my case I used once Buserelin, than other time Synarel nasal spray, than injection Decapeptyl etc... Something doesn't sound right to me but of course I am not a doctor... Follicles are starting to grow immediately after your period starts, hence the reason for taking Progynova+ another ovulation inhibitor on day 2 of your cycle. You might be on a protocol I never heard of before or this is a mistake... I am really sorry that you have to stress about this 🤗😔
Hi I saw your post this morning. I am doing a diagnostic cycle for ERA test but it follows the same protocol as an FET.
I have been prescribed progynova too and nothing to prevent ovulation. I phoned my clinic this morning and they said I don't need anything. But I'm not sure why, they said something about in stims they need it because the FSH makes the follicles grow but the estrogen doesn't have that impact on its own. I guess we have to trust the clinics but if you phone yours to ask would you update what they say? X
I have talked to them,- they say they use Progyova to inhibit folicle growth and for the lining o thicken. So, yes. Guess they have control!
I also told them my mistake taking 4 mg instead of 8 mg for a week,- they told me to just take the correct dose from now and they will check on UL (on monday) to see how this went.
I did this EXACT thing with progesterone to thicken my lining and my doctor wanted to cancel my transfer because my lining wasn’t very thick. I said no and I now have An 18 month old. 🌈
I think different clinics do things differently. My first clinic prescribed progynova to thicken the lining and an injection (can’t remember the name of the drug) to prevent ovulation. But I was part of a study to research whether a high dose of oestrogen is enough to suppress ovulation anyway. At my new clinic, they were confused when I mentioned injections for an FET as they only prescribe oestrogen. I don’t understand why they aren’t all on the same page but there seems to be a lot of differences between clinics.
Best of luck with your treatment. I hope you are still able to go ahead. x
Just wanted to give an update on how this went; no follicles, but a little bit thin lining (6 mm). 5 more days on Progynova and new US on Friday
