Anyone concieved whilst taking hrt

Hi lovely ladies. I just wanted some help. I'm 44 and menopausal but strangely I have zero symptoms of menopause apart from absent periods. I have started taking hrt oestrogen gel and Utrogestan progesterone which to induce a monthly bleed. Is there a chance I can still concieve?

You need to check with a doctor as I don’t know what affect the drugs would have on inducing ovulation.But signs are if there’s no real period anymore then you won’t be ovulating and so conception would be highly unlikely. Definitely time to go and seek help from the doctor

But I feel ovulation cramps and discharge. I also have high Thyroid 4.8 which my gp says its normal but to concieve it should be 2.5 or below. My gp is useless is not willing to give Thyroid medication

Hi Mikkie, you definitely need to start taking eltroxin to bring down your thyroid level. It does make a difference. You should insist on going to a specialist if your doctor won’t give you a prescription. It could be affecting you in more ways that one.

Unfortunately if your missing period is due to menopause and not another cause, taking medications won’t induce ovulation. Even if you werent menopausal taking estrogen and progesterone acts like a contraception, suppresses the ovaries from ovulating. You can have symptoms because the uterus responds to the hormones. If you’re serious about wanting to be pregnant donor egg or donor embryo would be your option. Sorry for the harsh news
