Swimming after FET

Hi all, a silly question from me. I had FET on Thursday. Now I'm on cyclogest pessaries. It's no fun as it's a bit messy. Now, on Sunday my toddler goes swimming and I'll need to get in with him. Are there any pros and cons of getting in the swimming pool so early? Ideally my husband would go with him but he is away for two week, the whole two week wait! Any suggestions?

It might just be me, but I wouldn’t - wouldnt want to question it on OTD, and I wouldn’t want chlorine up there! 😂

Hi, yes, that's what I'm thinking. I am organising an alternative to that. I just wonder if there is any actual info about it?

Hi I was told to avoid baths and swimming for two weeks after my transfer so I definitely wouldn't. Best of luck xx

So grateful for this post as I'm 5dpt and we were experiencing silly heat in Cape Town yesterday and wanted to just swim but glad I didn't. I wish you all the luck for your TWW 🍀☘️

I was also advised to avoid baths so assume swimming and any submersions to water xx

Thank you. I may not risk it x

I carried on swimming with my little one after our FET. The only time I’ve been told to avoid swimming is after egg collection due to infection risk which isn’t an issue with frozen transfers.

My transfer was successful x

Thank you. I think I may not risk it though ... Congratulations on your success!

I was told no swimming in the 2 ww

Transfers involve inserting a tube into your uterus and swimming pools are not the most hygienic of places and you could inadvertently pick up a bug which jeopardises the success - for the sake of one week I’d tell your child the lesson was cancelled or something 😂

Same as mine 😊 his lessons he doesn’t need me in (he is 4) but I didn’t want to be there as sooo packed so been getting the husband to meet me there straight when he finishes work and take him in … then I go CHill, win win 😂

Aww that's sounds like a good plan! My husband works away during my 2ww (😬😡). But once he is back I my do the same!

I was wondering about when I could go swimming again and it was suggested that you should wait until after the 2ww until you know you are or aren’t pregnant. In fact, until it’s really established your mucus plug won’t be there to protect either - so up to you, but I left it until about week 6

Thank you, I'll probably try to do that.

Nobody told me any of that. I don't do baths but love a scorching shower 😬

I was told no swimming or baths as it can cause infection.. so perhaps give the lessons a miss this week?
