Lining thickness query

So I had my lining check last Wednesday and it was only 6.3.

It started at 3.2 and after 7 days on 8mg estradiol and evorel 50 patches daily it has only grown to 6.3.

They are rescanning me later today which will be day 12 to see if it has grown anymore.

I was wondering what is a decent/good lining thickness to be aiming for?

The nurses were surprised it was as thin as it was but the Dr said it was doing ok.

I only have one frostie so don't want to waste it on just OK. So after some advice on what figure I should go ahead with, if they give me the final choice.

My last cycle was cancelled after I only made 7.3 after over a fortnight.

They did say if this didn't work they could do an augmented cycle?

Hi Yorkshiregirl. If you can get to over 8mm that should be OK for implantation. Good luck! Diane

Thanks Diane, it's hard to know with all the different numbers around.Does the age of the lining make a difference as in how many days they let it thicken for?

Hi. No, as long as it is thickening and not stopping. Good luck! Diane

Thanks Diane, sadly it didn't go to plan and this round has been cancelled as well. The lining thickness actually went down to 5.5.

Hi Yorkshireegirl. So sorry to hear this. Understandable that they cancelled the cycle, as they want to give you the best chance too. Thinking of you. Diane

My clinic are ok with 7mm so I think different clinics have different rules. I’ve had similar issues and don’t seem to respond to the oestrogen. Going for a baseline scan on Wednesday which I’m hoping will show an improvement on last time. Best of luck with your scan later, let us know how it goes x

Hope your scan went well yesterday? Fingers crossed it works for you, mine sadly didn't and have been cancelled again. Awaiting a consultation to find out where we go next

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s just the most frustrating thing. It feels like a bit of a lottery. My scan went well so hoping to go ahead with an FET in December if the lining looks ok on day 9. I’ve been here before though so trying not to get my hopes up. I’ve no idea what’s helped on this occasion. Regular acupuncture, eating more good quality red meat, lots of walks plus a combo of vit e/vit d/omega 3/aspirin. But I also went to France and drank far too much wine! I think a lot of it is just patience and timing. But who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️. I really hope things improve for you next time xxx

Thanks for your message, hope things are progressing well.Maybe it was the French🍷

Other than the acupuncture o tried the rest this time , hopefully next time they may figure it out

Good look with your 9 day scan

My aim is just over 7mm, which is my max even during my stims cycle. It can be a little bit of a personal number when your lining is on the slower or thinner side but your clinic should have some good advice on whether they think it's okay to go ahead. Being triple layered is also a good sign - so you should see like a bright white stripe down the middle when they show you the scan.

I've had mixed results on how well I respond to FETs but after a pretty poor showing last time we cancelled and will be trying a stimulated FET (using gonal-F to grow follicles, which will then produce my estrogen so it won't be external). Happy to share how that goes if that's where you end up.

But best of luck in the meantime! I hope your scan goes well 💪❤️

Thanks for all your wishes and advice, sadly it wasn't to be and cancelled again. The lining had actually gone down since my last scan to 5.5 so back to the drawing board. They mentioned an augmented cycle, not exactly sure what that is yet.

But sounds similar to yours.

Are you basically following the fresh cycle route without the egg collection?

Oh I'm so so sorry! 😔 I've been in those shoes recently and it was pretty distressing when I heard my lining had shrunk. So you're not alone at all.

And yep that's the plan! It will be gonal-F every 2 days from day 2 of my cycle. No down reg beforehand and a trigger when we are ready to go. I think there will be more scans than a usual FET (maybe?) but less drugs than a full fresh and no egg collection. It should be happening in December some time 🤞🤞🤞 Is your follow up booked in?

Thanks, strangely it helps that I'm not alone, at there are a few if us that don't work with the standard protocol.I have just had my follow up and going with an augmented cycle, menopour for me, so will just have to see what happens.

They said it was time dependent on when my period comes and Christmas shutdown. Then my period cam rather quickly so scan tomorrow to see what's happening.

Fingers crossed

Oh wow, that's great timing! Ahhh, all fingers crossed for you for the scan tomorrow and you can get going before the shutdown period. I agree, it is nice to know I'm not alone with this.

I ended up starting my gonal-f on Sunday and have a scan on Friday to see how things are progressing. It'll be early days then but, honestly, if this new protocol works even slightly I'm just going to be so thrilled. At the moment I'm in a "let's just see what happens" mode for my own sanity.
