help!!! Lining not thick enough😭

hi we are currently going through 2nd FET.

went for scan today after 2 weeks of estrogen patches and lining only 5.9mm.

We are devestated. Nurse said 1 more week of patches and potentially increase then another scan.

last FET we had no issues and i responded well and got to 8mm thick.

has anyone any success stories? Or is it realistic still that it will get thick after another week?

please respond with advice!

Each cycle can be - and usually is - entirely different from the one before Hopefully the lining will thicken up after further patches- there is still time for this to happen

Good luck with your treatment

Hey lovely,

Can your clinic add in progynova tablets? I have had scans where my lining is 6mm and a few days later its up to 8mm, so don't lose hope!

If you want some holistic help, beetroot juice, pomegranate juice and watermelon + ginger are supposed to help.

I am taking pom juice and brazil nuts. They have increased patches to 300mg for next week. Should i ask for tablet progynova aswell? 🤞🤞 just bit more time and il be ok! Xx

If they offer it, it definitely can help. I never tried the patches so can't comment on how much better they were...

But you may need a boost x

Ahhh I've been there :( know the feeling of how gutting it is when it won't thicken. Have you tried any fertility yoga? There are some good ones on YT. You might just need a bit longer on the meds this time, every cycle is different (which is very annoying ha!)

If it ends up being cancelled (fingers crossed it won't be though!!) then what is your lining like naturally? I had about 2-3 cancelled cycles in the end (we upped the estrogen everytime) but my lining just wasn't responding to any meds. Turns out my lining is okay naturally so I've done natural FETs (with progesterone at the end due to my losses). I haven't had any success yet (in terms of a pregnancy) but in terms of being about to get to transfer a natural cycle was best for me.

Good luck!!!

I drank pomegranate juice in addition to taking estrogen in the form of progynova tablets. I have seen it suggested that beetroot helps too. During my second FET, I also did reflexology. I don't know if it helped with the lining, but the lining was much better than the one during my first FET when I was on exactly the same course of progynova. Very best of luck!

I’ve never been on the patches I can’t imagine it I would absorb those. But agree with other comments adding in prognova tablets 3/4 times a day. High protein high Brazil nuts etc. x

I hate that lining scan but all will be ok, I’ve been in the same situation as you many times. Never been on patches but everyone’s medical needs are different. When I’ve had a disappointing lining scan I’ve increased my physical activity to keep blood flowing to the pelvic area, yoga is great and relaxing too. I also ate a little more protein and plenty of water. It thicken up nicely thereafter. You’ve got time so try not to worry too much, all the best with your treatment & hope this message is helpful x

Hey, so sorry to hear this. I had really thin lining. Took progynova that was prescribed. I also took l-arginine vitamin (you can purchase from Holland and Barrett) and my lining improved massively. I had been trying for over 16 years and am currently 6months pregnant. Hope it works for you xxx

hi Clowden, I also had a thin lining and my clinic has put me on patches (200 to change every 2 days) and progynova (5 tablets a day). I went from 2mm to 11mm. They told me that the minimum is 9mm. Your clinic should have upped the dose…

I was taking estrogen orally. My lining wasn't thick enough so my clinic added 1x estrogen tablet vaginally. I was fine for transfer.

Thanks for asking this, I just got a slightly disappointing reading for a 4 day scan. So I'll try some of these ideas - good luck 🤞 xx

Hi clowdenDon't worry and relax and do walk or exercise to make ur blood circulation better. Daily walk can improve your lining inshallah and also focus on diet

Best of luck🤞
