Downregulation FET

Hi everyone,

I'm having a downregulated FET cycle. Had buserilin injection since day 21 of my last cycle for 15 days. I had a period on this.The clinic has scanned me yesterday (thin lining, quiet ovaries) and asked to start taking oestrogen while continuing buserillin for the next 8 days. Is this what other people have had too? I'm trying to get my head around buserillin being a hormone blocker and taking that while on oestrogen.

Hi there - that's all normal. The buserelin is continuing to block your body from creating its own hormones (by keeping your ovaries nice and quiet) rather than blocking you from accepting the external ones when you take oestrogen tablets, if that makes sense. Best of luck! x

Hi Mglove. That's OK. The Buserelin stops you creating your own hormones, so they can manipulate you with medication, in your case oestrogen which will build up your lining. You don't need to ovulate as you have your embryo already created. Good luck! Diane

Yep this is quite normal. I'm on a medicated cycle also and the down reg gets everything quiet so then the docs synthetically create the right hormone mix so they can control timings x

At a certain point once they've seen your lining is thick enough on the estrogen (and the down reg blocks ovulation), they'll then start you on progesterone and plan in the transfer 💗💗

That's good to know. Not had a downregulated cycle before so didn't know what to expect.
