I just had a quick question, I’m getting ready for FET and been started on estrogen tablets 2mg three times a day and had a scan on the 11th day but my lining was only 6mm and the consultant has advised to increase the estrogen tablets to 4mg three times a day and re-scan. I feel that’s a really high dose of estrogen and wanted to know if that was the normal dose given to everyone? Xx

I think it depends on how your respond to the hormones as they seem to adjust oestrogen and progesterone in the run-up to and after the FET to get everything how they want it - I was on 4 oestrogen tablets to start (can't remember exact dose, poss 2mg) but I felt terrible and my lining got way too thick and uneven very fast so they said reduce it. But then my lining's always been thicker and I don't get on well with oestrogen, whereas they had to up the progesterone, so I think it's just finding the right combination for each person. They may bring it down again around or after transfer.

Hi lovely, I always seemed to have trouble getting to 8mm lining thickness, so for my last 3 FETs I've been on 12mg of oestrogen (6 x tablets a day).I had no issues with it and the lining reached 8mm.

I know a few others who were routinely given that dose too, so I would say trust your clinic and go with it!

Hi Bump, ah linings are a tricky thing. You're right that the dose is high but it's still within the range that people are given so don't worry about that 😊

Everyone has their own "normal" with FET meds and it can be a bit of trial and error to get there. That said, increasing your dose after your first scan is super common and usual so definitely trust your clinic on this one.

I am also on 6 pills a day. I was worried, thought it was mistake, double/triple re-checked with doctor. It is not a mistake. I am used to it now. 2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon and 2 before sleep.

It really depends on your body. I have always been on 4 x 2mg tablets a day. I spread mine out evenly. But you can take them as the clinic has described! My lining was perfect on those. Just sometimes it takes more for it to grow. Good luck!

Drink pomegranate juice daily and it'll help tremendously! Trust me, did it wuth both of my FET's and my lining was perfect. I was on 2mg of edtrogen twice a day. Hope this helps. Best if luck!
