IVF, last min Menopur with trigger shot, bloating and pessaries

Hi all,

Had my third scan today and told its trigger shot tonight! Also had to do another 300 shot of Menopur when we got back to help give an extra boost. Has anyone else had to do that? Don’t know if it is good or bad. They say I have 6 follicles which look to be useable. The biggest is currently 21mm.

I then have to start pessaries which I’m not looking forward to. I have to take Utrogestan x 3 a day at 200mg. I am a little worried how I am going to do the afternoon time one as I am a teacher and barely get time to pee let alone do this!

My friend took Cyclogest and really suffered with mood swings, bloating and bad acne (she never suffered from acne before) Is one meant to be better than the other with side effects?

I am worried about more bloating as I have gained a couple of pounds and bloated throughout injections. I have been eating healthy and exercising to keep healthy but to no avail. Sometimes I can look 6 months pregnant which is upsetting when you are trying to get pregnant! Will this get worse with pessaries? Just concerned when I’m back at school the kids are not going to be subtle if I look massive! 🙈😂

Excited and nervous about egg collection. My husband’s sperm count has been varied and his morphology is low (we are doing ICIS) so I know there are a few hurdles to overcome yet!

Xx

Hi filmGeek, I had my trigger shot at 9pm tonight, with the extra menopur and ovaleap concoction. Finally, the last injections administered.

Egg collection is on Wednesday, I’m feeling a mixture of emotions. I am 39 with 7 possible follicles - expected with my age and declining ovarian reserve.

I’m having a fresh cycle, this round last two rounds were aiming at ‘freeze all’, although the embies were never strong enough to go though the freeze process.

I’ve had a endometrial scratch and added a few extra ‘add ons’. Which, if it was to work I wouldn’t be able to put my finger on what helped. If it doesn’t we can say we tried everything…

This cycle I got the bloat too, and it’s not nice. But it’s a side effect from what we are aiming for. Think of the end goal, progesterone pessaries again may or may not give you side effects - everyone’s different….

Good luck 😉 fingers crossed and baby dust everywhere xxx

Good luck with collection tomorrow! I’m 37 and also have declining reserve so I’m pleased I’ve got to this stage! Sending lots of love. Let me know how you get on xx
