Slow rising HCG levels- will I miscarry?

Hi All,

Just wondering if there is any one out there with advice on slow rising HCG. I know there’s nothing they can really do about it… but I’ve been trying for years, had failed IVF etc. Fallen pregnant naturally somehow and I’m week 5.5 with HCG levels of 2300 they are not doubling every 48 hours. I’ve had a scan to show a sac in my uterus but I’m just still so anxious right now. Finding it very hard. I did read online slow rising HCG levels are linked to miscarriages.

I’m on progesterone, steroids & blood thinners…

How much did they go up in 48h? They should double in 2-3 days and lots of pregnancies don't have doubling in 2 days. As HCG gets higher the rate of increase also lowers. xx

It’s been going up about 25-30% every 48 hours.

Ok. I can understand your worry but as you say below there isn’t anything to be done but wait xx

I'm not sure what kind of rise your levels are showing but some peoples levels rise a bit slower than others. The typical doubling rate is every 48 to 72 hours and eventually it slows down to around 96 hours. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do but wait it out. I hope it works out for you!! Hugs.xx

It’s taken 5 days for my HCG levels to double so there are concerned about having a miscarriage. However I did have a scan today which showed a heartbeat so I guess I have to remain positive. So hard though at the moment. Unsure why my HCG levels aren’t rising quick enough but there’s nothing I can do!

Ahhh I see, they are a bit slower than normal however you can only wait it out. Everyone is different and they can only go by the typical rate of increase so there will always be some that are slower or faster. Fingers crossed for you!xx
