Hcg levels

Hi,

I’ve been so fortunate to get a bfp, but I’m really anxious my hcg levels aren’t high enough, but I’m not really sure what to compare it with? I know over 50 is considered pregnant, but what’s considered ‘good’ when it comes to hcg?

I have another test in a few days but I’m so anxious waiting for it!

Hcg doesn't mean a lot. It just needs to double ideally (or at least rise by 60%) in 48 hours.

Mine started off really well at 1065 but wasn't doubling. It initially rose by 60 odd % but then slowly was only rising by 50%. Try not to worry about hcg. Viability scan is the usual marker and then Baby's measurements there on x

Thanks, I guess I’ll just have to wait and see! And stress ha ha. 7 weeks seems like such a long time away!

Just tagged you in another post which might help x

Thanks for that :) I’m not sure if it was reassuring though because it says the average for 12dpt is 300 and mine were only 275, they were 400 with my daughter which is also making me stress!

275 is only just below! I wouldn’t say that was low. I know it’s difficult but every pregnancy is different so try not to compare it and stress too much. Embryos implant at different rates so it’s unlikely you’d have identical numbers.

If you’re really worried, I would ask for a repeat blood test 48 hours apart just to check it’s doubling. Do you have a scan date yet?x

No they don’t give the scan date until after the next blood test (tomorrow)

I am not sure how much one can read into HCG numbers, I think the most important is scan results.

Did you have your HCG tested again? I have. History of chemical pregnancies which are normally indicated by low HCG which rises and then drops

Hi, yea I did, they were 600 and something so more than doubled, and my progesterone levels are all good, so the clinic have reassured me that I have nothing to worry about. They also said 275 at 4 weeks is a perfectly acceptable level of hcg and I shouldn’t compare to my previous pregnancy. It’s really hard not too though!

I’ve also been a bit worried that I haven’t had the same pregnancy symptoms as I did previously, last time I was so sick from really early on and now I’m mostly fine, a bit sick occasionally but nothing like last time. I’m trying to just hope for the best though.
