I was just wondering if anyone has any experience in this area? My friend is 6 weeks pregnant after two miscarriages so had an early scan a week ago where they could see the sac - she's having regular blood tests but had a phone call this morning to say that her HCG levels ARE rising but not as much as they would expect. They're saying it could be an ectopic pregnancy but I don't see how that's possible if they saw the sac on her 5 week scan? Anything you can say about this matter would be really helpful.
Thank you xx

Hi BabyD. As you probably know, your friend's hCG level should at least double every 2 days, if it doesn't then it may have attached high up in the womb, and just could be an ectopic developing. They should have seen the yolk in the sac, but too early to detect a heartbeat. This is normally seen around 6-7 weeks of pregnancy. Keeping everything crossed for her that the pregnancy continues. Hi BabyD... It's such an awful time when you get information like this. There are so many unknowns it's really difficult to stay positive. The only thing you can do is be there for your friend at this time until there's more news. Praying that all is well for her x x x
My levels did not rise for over a week (no where near doubled) as they should and they suspected Heterotopic pregnancy with a live pregnancy and one in the ovary. After being admitted to hospital levels started doubling and whatever was in my ovary shrunk on its own after a couple of weeks. I am now 16+1.
I was so worried with the levels but it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad might be a slow implanter or they told me it could have been a twin with one not growing. As mentioned above just be there for your friend and pray that her pregnancy continues xxx
