I’ve had a failed fresh transfer and a failed frozen transfer ending in chemical pregnancy.
My next option is to go into another frozen transfer on a short protocol with no down regulation.
Has anyone had any experience of a shorter frozen protocol? It’s great to have a plan so quickly after a failed cycle, I feel I just have to go with it and hope for the best.. I have two frozen embryos left.
Hoping and praying for the best 🙏🏼✨

Sorry to hear about your cycles not working, i also had a chemical last month, it’s super tough isn’t it.I will be doing a FET on short protocol next month after my ERA. But I will be taking Fyrmadel for 10 days from start of my period to quiet the ovaries. Will also be oestrogen.
I previously did a FET at my old clinic where it was short protocol and I only took oestrogen. My lining grew quite okay then too x
Yes same to you! Wishing you all the best and good luck with your lining scan on Friday x x
Hi Char2383, we did our first FET in May and I only took Progynova on a short protocol. We did start in April but sadly my lining wasn’t think enough so we abandoned that month. The clinic upped the dosage to 4 tablets a day and I made sure I was eating all the right foods and it thickened up just right. We are now 12 weeks pregnant. Best of luck with it all xx
Thank you! It’s hard but you have to keep going, it’s taken us two fresh rounds of IVF, 3 transfers and 1 miscarriage to get this far. But I’m well aware some have to go through much much more, so I am so grateful. Really hope this next chance brings you your baby xxx 3rd time lucky was a mantra I kept saying, so hopefully it will be the same for you too
I've always just had short protocol! Estrogen from day 4 (ish) of cycle (after baseline scan to check all is quiet). I take 4 a day (8mg progynova) and have a scan after taking them for 10-12 days. If all OK and thick enough, add in the progesterone (normally the day after the scan) and transfer is 5 days later.
The short protocol is much kinder to the body it seems, I feel much more relaxed about it already so hopefully that’s a good sign. Thanks for your reply that’s really helpful 😊✨ x x
This is the protocol that I normally would use for FET. It's so much easier on the body not having to down regulate. Sorry to hear about your chemical, so hard!☹ Happy to help if you've any questions.xxx
Thank you so much, yes I’m relieved not having to go through the down regulation again.. I do have a question actually, does the progynova stop ovulation from occurring? Thanks again x x
I did four FET where I only took Progynova on a short protocol. The only time I downregulated (to try something new) the cycle got cancelled because my lining wasn’t thinking enough.
That was exactly our thoughts when they proposed downregulation! After that cancellation, we went for a natural modified cycle (with Northisterone the previous cycle) to see if we could improve the thickness over that reached using the short protocol above (~8.5mm) but got similar results (8.4mm), so I think next time I will go again for the short protocol (cheaper, simpler, much fewer scans).
