No down regulation with DE cycle

Has anyone that has been through a DE cycle not been down regulated?

The clinic is recommending that I go on BCP or straight into Progynova estrogen tablets. I’m not used to this and wanted to hear other people’s experiences?

I didn’t have DE but I did this for my frozen embryo cycle which is presumably basically the same thing and it was successful. Much nicer not down regulating, and quicker too.

Ps wouldn’t bcp be a way of down regulating?

Yes I guess bcp is like down reg but they said depending on when I start my period in August i’ll Be going on to bcp or straight into Progynova estrogen tablets to thicken the lining. I imagine it’s to sync me and the donor up perhaps. It’s good to know that some cycles don’t have the down reg protocol I just haven’t found out why yet...

Congratulations on your success and thanks for replying!

Hi, yes I have and it was a much better experience as the burseline (menaupur) give me terrible migraine. I have on a high dose of progynova. I wish you all the best with your treatment. 🤞🤞🤞🤞xx

Thanks for replying a few people have said they felt better without down reg. I am more worried about the Progynova as I have endometriosis so last time I took it I had a flare up. Good luck with your treatment too! X

I only have Evorel patches to build up lining from day 1 of my cycle and then add in progesterone before transfer.

Only time I have used Noresthisterone to down reg was when I needed to sync with donor

Makes sense I hope I can just go straight to estrogen as I prefer fewer meds if possible. Good luck x

Hi, I was on the BCP for 2 months straight before, then had an injection to stop my cycle on day 3 of my ‘week off’ then started the progynova. I had this even though I was in menopause as I suppose they don’t want any natural hormones interfering with the process. I’d check the protocol with the clinic just to make sure. I’m not aware of anyone doing fresh or frozen transfer that has had down reg process.

Good luck 🍀

To be honest not down regulating is a god send! I feel awful down regulating so dont do it now. I just start on progynova on day 2 as this is meant to suppress ovulation anyway and does for me. The BCP is more used as a way of synching your AF with you donors cycle or planning your period to the T for booking appts or travel if necessary. Good luck.xx

Thanks i think this is what the Clinic were saying to me yesterday. Sounds like these protocols could be used then and I should stop worrying about it!

Only time DE worked for me was when I didn’t down regulate. I felt better as well. I’m having success (currently 21 weeks) after our third DE transfer. For the other two DE cycles and my three OE cycles I was down regulated. I’m sure this isn’t the reason it worked but I felt better.

Thanks I feel reassured that the cycle can work without down reg now. Good to know you’re having success. Congrats and good luck
