Hi everyone,

I hope your journeys are going well or as well as possible at this present time.

I am after some positive uplifting stories. I know for some these will be difficult so please feel free to stop reading here and good luck with your journey.

If you made it here thank you for continuing.

My question is does anyone have any positive outcomes for someone with 1 tube and an amh of 8. Hubby also has a low count at the moment but is being tested again to check this.

Anything would be good.

Thank you for reading

Kelly

I guess your year of birth is '88 so definitely young and with loads of changes. In IVF world having only one tube won't affect your outcome, AMH of 8 is not that bad. I had an AMH of 35 and always had 7-8 eggs mature per cycle, only one cycle out of 4 I had 10 mature eggs and one blastocysts. With a good protocol you can produce good quality eggs (not necessarily quantity). Regarding your partner, having problems only with low count honestly is not that bad, he can be put on stimulation drugs just like us 😬 and his number can increase a lot. My husband had problems with motility, morphology and count. We never produced a great amount of embryos but we managed to get pregnant with our last PGS normal embryos. We are expecting twins ☺️. Find a good clinic, if you are not going to try with NHS first, with good embryologists and open minded doctors and you will have all the changes in the world. I am keeping everything crossed for you, good luck 🤞❤️

Thank you so much for this! It fills me with a lot of hope for us! Yes correct on the ‘88 😉

Massive congratulations on the twins as crazy as it sounds that would be my ideal but after trying so long I will be happy no matter what we eventually get.

Thank you for sharing with me 😊

We are happy with twins, we will never go back to IVF again! We have all we wanted even more than that. Honestly I thought we will only have one child after so many failed transfers but God had different plans for us and we been blessed with 2 ❤️. Keep your hopes up and always stay positive 🤩🥰🍀

Thank you I’m really trying but it’s very hard.

Two blessings instead of one. I wish you another so much luck for the future xx

My husband doesn’t have sperm problems but my AMH was 7.6 before I started IVF (I was 39, now 40) and had a BFP on my second round. I got 8 and 9 eggs on the 2 rounds and in each round 7 fertilised normally. Get your hubby on some supplements (and you!)-the book It Starts With The Egg has info for guys as well as gals, and I really think they helped my oldish eggs. They aren’t going to hurt but might really help. I probably have mild endo (I have what is a presumed endometrioma on one ovary spotted during IVF scans and chronic abdo pain but not had a laparoscopy so unconfirmed) but my problem conceiving was not quite making enough progesterone and also being insensitive to the progesterone I was making. As Rachu says, having tubes isn’t going to stop you getting pregnant with IVF Xx

Hi 👋

This is great info thank you for sharing I have endo too and had extensive excision surgery last august sadly we have t fallen pregnant naturally and ivf is out next step. How were the clinic with your cysts? my consultant is saying he would rather not refer us if I have them (although I think they have been removed) could we still push to be referred? Did they cause you a big problem? Sorry for the questions

Thank you 😊

Xx

So far not a problem as it’s small (I think only 4mm). I do get some sharp pelvic pain in that area but not really since being pregnant. It was only found on a monitoring scan and they just kind of said ‘meh it’s an endometrioma’. I was surprised they didn’t want it looking into but I guess as it’s small and apparently common they didn’t feel the need to do anything so treated as incidental. It’s not effacing the ovary or anything. I’m sorry to hear the surgery didn’t help but I hope the IVF works out for you xx

Thank you for that.

I dont think I have any. When I was originally referred they logged one on my left ovary but my surgical report doesn’t specifically say they removed one there so my consultant is being sceptical. Just frustrating. Hubby had a low count so he’s being retested. Just all a bit stressful. This is great news though because hopefully even if there is one it will be fine to go ahead xx

Hi kelsbels

I have one tube, one was removed due to hydrosalpinx. I had amh of 11.4 so not much higher then yours and I'm 34. I had an NHS cycle in may which resulted in 19 eggs, 9 fertilised and 4 were good enough to freeze. My clinic did put me on quite a high dose of stims and I ended up with a freeze all due to mild OHSS- not complaining of course cos so happy with the number of frosties I got 😊

Please dont worry to much about amh, it is just an indication of egg reserve not quality, that is mainly determined by age. Also it seems that amh can actually increase and I know sometimes even test to test it can change!

Cannot comment on sperm mobility but I think you have been given some really good advice here.

I followed all of the advice in 'it starts with the egg' apart from DHEA as I wasnt tested, I followed it for about 4 months before my cycle started. I also had accupunture during stims and whilst waiting for my FET

Best wishes xx
