I guess il just feeling confused what do do next. My AMH really low and I’m 41. I guess I’m just looking for some positive stories or advice?

Mandyymc34, you must be quite emotionally drained. Are you able to get another cycle on the NHS? Really sorry for you it must be very hard to get your head around it. IVF ican be cruel as it offers hope and opportunity, which sometimes does not turn into success. Emotional rollercoaster. Good luck. Xxx
Hi thank you for responding
I had my one free go last year through NHS . This time we funded it ourselves. IVF is both physically and mentally draining ☹️ I keep being told egg donor my only option but I’m not sure how I feel about that x
Hmmm yes that is a hard one. Only you will know the answer that. I have a friend who used a donor egg as she was too old for her own. Her wee boy is goegeous. She went to Spain to do it. Very difficult decision to make. Do you try again or just accept the situation and move on. Good luck Mrs!! Xx
Yes got a lot of thinking to do xx
I know how hard this can be to hear and its a huge decision for anyone to make. We've had to go down this route (Im now 40 but 38 at time of first cycle), we got a reasonable amount of eggs around 6/7 each but only 3 eggs out this these cycles got to blastocyst stage and none acheived a pregnancy. We got told we had a 5% chance of my own eggs working and due to the fact we didnt have an endless pot of money and want to be parents we opted to try DE. There are quite a lot of ladies on here using DE but as I said its a huge decision to go in this direction and you have to be ready!xx
Hi thank you 😊
So do you think DE is deffinateky worth it? I have to go back to the clinic next week to discuss options and I know they are going to talk about this again xx
Well nobody can say for sure as there are no guarantees in any of this IVF malarkey but the success rates are certainly a lot higher than using your own eggs. We havent achieved our baby dream yet but from our first donor cyclt we got 6 top quality blastocysts. I think if you can get your head around it then its worth exploring! They may even offer you counselling which can often help too!xx
Yes iv read that they tend to offer counselling to help people decide xxxx
Hey, I can relate to your story on so many levels. I had my miracle child three years ago. When I had her I never thought I had an issue. We decided that in order to complete the family we should try for a second one. We started trying when my daughter was 1 year old. Nothing was happening for us. We went to the fertility specialist who after doing our tests found out I had an AMH level that was extremely low. The doctor was shocked that how come I even had a baby. Anyways, so they also told me I had a poor ovarian reserve. I have been told as well that if I opt for IVF it has very low chances of working and if it works the chances of MC are very high. So the only option I have is IVF with DE. However, I don't know if I want to go for that option. I am still very confused. But hey I hope things get better for you. Stay strong and be positive.
Hi
Thank you !!
Yes DE is a big step and I guess not a decision to be taken lightly xxx
It is really sad to hear about your miscarriage. It’s not easy to try again and again. You seem very strong. I know you are looking forward to another try. I really hope you have this baby. It will bring such joy to you. You should really ask your OBGYN about the medications. I suppose no one would know better than him/her. You should totally arrange a meeting between them. It breaks my heart to see you go through this.
Thank you 🙏
