Good morning, I had a 3 cycle package of embryo banking and I was on 375 ius of Gonal F and after a few days, I added 75 ius of menopur. I would say my results were overall good.
I did have a disastrous 2nd round where we had no blastocysts but I noticed the number of eggs retrieved increased from cycle to cycle. From 6 to 13 to 15. This for me is a good outcome considering I was 43 years of age at the time. I also had a few embryos banked.
I remember feeling apprehensive about the high dose but I chose to trust the doctor and I am overall pleased I did.
Ohhh good x thank u 🙏 I do think I read your background in another post here. I’ve only ever done menopur at 225,267 and 300 and the best result was the 267 IU in terms of follicle count but I ovulated before EC.
I know each lady responds so differently to the meds.
I do trust my FS but he is new and just different to what I’m used to. That dose seems so high to me but I guess I’ll have to wait and see how it all goes and have faith it will work 🙌🙌
That round where you ovulated early must have been difficult. I am sorry to hear that. Did they ever tell you why it happened?
I was also on Menopur prior to Gonal F and it was okay. Worth noting that Gonal F is significantly more expensive if you are paying. I have a box left over from my last round and all I can see is the £250 I wasted 😞
Hi, I have low AMH so I was never expected to get many eggs and they decided to try high stims. I did two rounds of IVF. With 425 gonal f plus 75 menopur from a few days in (feramadel to suppress ovulation). I was wary of such high stims as I had heard that low stims can produce better quality. In my first round I got 4 eggs all which fertilised (1 5 day 4AB blast and a 6 day 5BB) and second round 2 eggs, only 1 of which fertilised normally (fresh day 3 transfer of average quality embryo).High stims appeared to work for me on my first round but not so much on my second. Considering my drugs cost me £2k for my second private round and I only got one normal egg I do wonder whether natural or mild ivf would be worth trying if I ever had ivf again. But I trust the doctors and will probably just do what they recommend!
Thank u 😊 I remember u replied to me last time I asked about dosages of meds. At that point it was the opposite, they were going to use only 150 IU of the gonal f and 75 of the menopur. That cycle never eventuated as we had issue with the FS. He agreed to bulk bill us and then changed his mind at the last minute so we pulled the plug and changed clinics and now about to start on this protocol.
I’m confident in our new FS’s knowledge and experience so I guess we will see how it all goes soon enough 🤞🤞🤞🤞was just curious to hear others outcomes on high dose gonal f .
No I definitely appreciate ur response 💕 thank u 🙏 so do I !! Such a roller coaster. I’m on the pill atm and it really effects my moods. I feel like throwing in the towel and just living my life but I know I would regret it later if I didn’t give it a go while I can x
It really is all consuming. It’s hard to find the willpower to keep trying but we do as we know we have to unfortunately. I really hope this is the round for you xx
