I’m new here. Looking for some positive thoughts 💛
We’ve just been through our first fresh cycle and found out it’s a negative. It really is an emotion rollercoaster. We transferred a 4aa and not sure what went wrong. We’ve only had a bloods etc taken and the usual ultrasound and everything has come back normal. The only thing that was mentioned was PCO appearance and not to worry.
Does anyone recommend having any more test before we think of going through our first FET?
TIA

Hello. I’m so sorry it didn’t work - the whole process is agony. But remember that sadly there’s an element of luck here.... each individual IVF cycle has about a 25% chance of success - but success rates are really really good if you persevere! All our tests came back normal too and we got our BFP on the third transfer - we didn’t do any extra tests as the doctor said we were unlikely to learn anything useful - I think if the third hadn’t worked we probably would have asked for more tests... it’s personal of course, do what feels right and I wish you the best of luck next time 🤞 x
Thank you for replying. This gives us some hope for future. 💛 congrats on your little one. Hope you don’t mind me asking, did you go straight into your next cycle and was it a FET? I don’t know whether my body needs rest from all the medication or it’s worth jumping straight in again. X
Thank you 😊 In my case they were worried about OHSS so we didn’t get to the transfer, we did a freeze all in my first cycle - because of that we then waited two or three months before going for a FET. we then had two FETs that didn’t work - we then did another fresh and that one worked . I think giving your body a month or two to settle down is a good idea but no need to wait ages. x
Hi there. That's so disappointing that it didn't work out this time, but don't lose hope because there is a higher success rate with FET. I was initially soooooo disappointed that my fresh transfer was cancelled due to risk of OHSS, because it took about 3 months longer to do the FET. However I'm so glad I got the FET because I'm now 5 weeks pregnant. I have a feeling that a fresh transfer wouldn't have worked for me either because my estrogen levels were very high and apparently this can affect implantation even in a good quality embryo. I have a good feeling that you will have success with FET so keep your chin up xxx
Thank you this is really what I needed to hear. My doctor did mention before transfer that FET was a lot more successful. So there’s hope.
Just reading your page. We are doing the same next time round. Well be keeping it to our selfs. So hard explaining every step when it’s the unknown at what the end result is.
Congratulations on your news. Wishing you the very best! Xx
