Spare medication from IVF

Hi everyone, has anyone been in the situation that they have leftover meds from IVF? A friend of mine got pregnant just before she started IVF and now has all these expensive medications that she is not gonna use... Is it possible to sell it somewhere? Or even to give it away?

Unfortunately you can’t sell it or give it to anyone as it’s illegal to pass along medication that’s been dispensed to someone. She could take it back to the clinic for them to dispose of or for them to use for training but that’s about it. It’s also unlikely they would buy it back as they can’t resell it x

Agree with other poster best to take to a pharmacist/clinic to destroy - sadly there are some unscrupulous people around and you just don’t know what their intentions are - they could sell what you’ve given them for free to a desperate couple for profit or they could be taking it themselves without actually being under the care of a clinic and trying to do a sort of DIY cycle risking themselves medically x

Yes I have medicine left over it’s such a shame that it get thrown away after the money we’ve spent 🥲

My clinic used medications that passed expiry date to teach me how to do double trigger injections. That really helped me. I imagine if you took your spare meds to your clinic, they could be used for good causes like this

Depending on the expiration date and how far along she is in pregnancy she can keep them if she needs in the future...

She is quite far along, and due to her age (43) won't be having another one...but thanks for the response!

I take all of mine back to the clinic so they either dispose of them or use them for teaching. Unfortunately selling them is illegal. Xx
