I wondered if anyone has any success stories or hope that they can offer? I'm so worried about it all. I'm 37 (38 next week) And we have just done a round of IVF. We had 12 eggs collected, and only 1 fertilised into a viable embryo. I'm going back tomorrow for embryo transfer- which will be a 2 day old embryo.
Are my chances really slim? We have undiagnosed infertility but looking at my stats I think egg quality may be a factor
Thanks all xx

Congratulations on your one embroy. Its something to celebrate.
I had 8 collected in December, only 1 fertilised and got to day 5. Is there a reason why they are transferring at day 2? Its probably better in the womb at this point.
Thank you, how did you get on with your one? They didn't say why it was a day 2 transfer but that seems to be the norm at our clinic when there are few embryos produced.
This gives me hope. We had 8 collected with 2 fertilised and 1 made it to day 5. Transferred yesterday. Was this your first cycle if you don't mind me asking? K x
I’m so sorry, it’s so upsetting when you experience such a big drop off from a decent amount of eggs. We had similar on our last cycle (Sep/Oct 19) resulting in a day 2 transfer. We didn’t have success unfortunately, but at the time I was panicking and posted about it and quite a few people shared their success stories which really helped give me a boost of hope! Have a look back through those if you think it might help. Lots of luck lovely xx
We had 8 eggs collected, 7 mature enough to be injected (ICSI), only 2 fertilised and then only one made it to day 5 so we couldn't freeze the other. Transfer was yesterday.
It only takes 1 so 🤞🤞 this is the one. Wish you all the luck xx
Thanks so much everyone for replying. I hope it survives the night and then I enter the 2ww. I have read positive stories too so we just trust and pray it works out ok xx
It’s so upsetting to experience that. I had 12 eggs collected on my second round and 3 fertilised. I was devastated. However by day 5 all 3 were going strong and I am now 14 weeks pregnant. Don’t give up hope. Your one might just be the one! My first round I had 19 eggs. 14 fertilised, 8 made it to day 5 and no pregnancy so I really think sometimes we put too much on the numbers game. Good luck for your transfer tomorrow, there is every chance that this embryo could your baby. Keep us posted xx
Congratulations on your pregnancy, that's fantastic. I think you're right about the numbers game. They'd only put one back in me anyway, so no matter how many were embryos at this stage there would still only be one we would be focussing on if that makes sense. 🤞🤞🤞
I had on my first and second IVF cycle only 2 days embryo transfers. Clinic is transferring them on day 2 only if you have 1 or 2 embryos. If you have 2 they will transfer both. Unfortunately my transfers ended both in chemical. Now we just finished our 3rd round, from 16 eggs only one embryo made it to day 5 or actually day 6 🤪. All cycles are so different. Good luck 🍀
Hi, my husband and I were diagnosed as unexplained after 3 years of inconclusive tests. We did 1 round of ivf, had 8 eggs collected, 5 fertilised and 3 made it to day 5. However they told us that only one looked the best and they didn't think the others would survive the thaw if frozen. I was devastated and really thought we had no chance with just 1. Fast forward to now and we have a beautiful 10 month old daughter and I've just found out I'm 7 weeks pregnant naturally, so it can work with just 1 and it seems she has reset my body which can now do it without help. For my ivf, I did 1 round of long protocol and was put on baby aspirin 75mg and clexane. I hope yours goes well xx
