I hope some know my situation. Im 32 with 2 miscarriages in my past from ivf and IUI. In my second cycle ivf I was put on gonal f 450 and had poor response. Only 2 embryos a 4AA fresh transfer failed. One 3AB left . I wanted to have endometrial scratching, my doctor ignored my request saying there is no scientific evidence and scheduled my transfer for 23 October as lining looks good though. I’m very scared Cos this is my last embryo left.
they asked me to do a progesterone blood test on 16 to know if I have not ovulated. They have not given me anything to prevent ovulation. Before starting ivf I was put on Mirvala. I believe if the blood test show that I ovulated then they will cancel the cycle. Why so? Not understanding their concept. And more over I asked nurse once I start taking progesterone close to the date of fet will they check progesterone. She said clinic has no such protocol. Sorry for long post and vague questions, my mind is at unrest. I want to make sure everything is done right for my one last embryo. Can I go for blood test by myself to check progesterone, Cos it’s anyways self funded without doctors consent. If so what can I expect from that and how should I interpret those results. Btw I believe if all goes well after first blood work they will put me on prometrium from 18 , 2 100 mg 3 times vaginally and pio once is 3 days. Here I see so many ladies taking pio shot almost every day. Pls help

Totally understand that you want to give your last embryo the best chance so completely valid questions. Absolutely get the progesterone tested the day before, you want it over 20, but best at 50. The only thing is that because you’re on pessaries it won’t measure it as accurately as if you were on PIO but it’s still worth doing. Personally, your dose was not enough for me, I wasn’t absorbing pessaries that well so I’ve upped my own PIO to every second day but that still wasn’t enough. My final transfer I did PIO only twice a day (2ml in total) and it’s finally done the trick, it was nice and high. So do test it the day before transfer and if it’s on the lower side, do PIO more often or add more pessaries. Then have it checked again halfway through the TWW to make sure it’s still looking good and then up the dosage if it’s below 20 (but ideally it should be close or over 50).
And try and relax, you’re doing everything you can to make it successful!
Thanks Lisichka. My clinic is reluctant about increasing the dosage. I’m not sure what’s the harm. Sometimes I feel all alone in this fertility race with less help from my doctor.
