Failed FEt

I have just found out that our last frozen embryo transfer failed 😢. We had 3 x 5 day embryos after my first round of icsi age 40. The first resulted in a missed miscarriage and the 2nd two failed. I'm so disappointed 😞. The embryos were grade A, AB and C I think. We had only 4 eggs collected so this was a really good number of blastocysts. Can people tell me their experiences, both positive and negative of doing a further round at my age (I'm now 41)? We need to decide whether to stop now or have one more full round.

Thanks!

I am on my fifth fresh round at 43. I’ve had 3 failed rounds and one bfp which also resulted in MMC

My nurse and consultant just say keep going, it’s a numbers game and 43 isn’t old anymore

So we just keep going!! Good luck xx

I would definitely keep going if I were you, having managed to get 3 good blastocysts and FETs.

I’m 41. We’re on our 2nd fresh cycle and d4p3dt double embryo. We were successful on our 1st cycle in 2018 with a 5dt of two “average” embryos.

You’ve been able to get to the transfer stage 3 times which is great.

Another fresh cycle ASAP hopefully will get you a fresh transfer & maybe at least one FET?!

I’m not sure there are many negatives in doing another round other than financial. At least you’ll know you tried everything.

But it really sucks at our age as it’s horrid to feel that we’re running out of time 😢x

Thank you for sharing. I really hope you get news following your transfer. I had a little boy naturally in 2016, but it doesn't stop you wanting another, does it?

Thank you 😊. It definitely never stops you wanting the family you’ve always dreamed of. At the moment I feel like I’ll keep going until my medical team tells me there’s no chance 🤞

This is such a tough process... Sorry to hear your last round failed, look after yourself and take some time to process things.

My 1st round was a double frozen transfer and failed, I had a fresh double transfer last July which ended in a MMC of twins in August last year. I then had 3 cancelled FET and another transfer this July (1 x fresh and 1 x frozen - long story but to do with funding) and that failed 3 weeks ago... I had 4 Day 5 blastocysts from this last cycle so I have 3 frozen and I have everything crossed one of those is the golden egg! Good luck xx

Gosh, you have been through a lot. I hope one of your frozen embryos is the one! Can I ask how old you are?
