This week has been hell for me. I have finally worked up the strength to come on here and update everyone on my pregnancy progress.
On Monday I had some red bleeding and mostly brown discharge at 5 weeks pregnant. I was so worried and assumed the worst. It’s been a week of real pain. Tuesday more or the same. For a blood test done yesterday and my beta came back at 20,000 so the doctor and nurse said I am still pregnant but because I had a small amount of red bleeding I would get a n early scan tomorrow.
I hope everything is okay. I have a feeling the bleeding is being caused by the presseries and it happens just after I take them. So today I put it up the other side (sorry TMI).
Yesterday I had bad sickness again and a migraine. Just been feeling awful. The nurse said I shouldn’t worry. Has anyone had brown discharge and slight red bleeding (only when you wipe) during their pregnancies?
I had to take the week of work and I am having bed rest. I am trying to be calm as I did get an amazing beta. Thanks for readings and hope everyone is keeping well in their journey xxx

Yes! Every single pregnancy. I lost fresh blood with my grown up son at 7 weeks. I had brown spotting with my daughter between 6-14 weeks even lost fresh blood with clots at 10 weeks. This pregnancy I’ve had 3 episodes of red spotting & I’m getting brown spotting every single day 🙄 it’s awful seeing any blood pregnant. I will say your levels sound very good & the fact it’s just spotting & not getting heavy is very promising. Pain is usually an indication of an impending miscarriage accompanied with very heavy bleeding. I had a chemical pregnancy between my son & daughter & it was so different to spotting. For a start it started with severe cramps ( not twinges) I spotted it got heavier ( gushing I was on the toilet for 2 hours couldn’t move) the clots were massive like the size of my fist. I knew I was losing the baby, you just know. The tests went negative soon as I spotted with the chemical. I think you will be okay I’ve got a good feeling. Lots of women spot in pregnancy but most have healthy babies. I know of lots. Put your feet up ( wish I could I’m running after my 14 month old!!🤣) Let us know how it goes will be thinking of you xxx
Hi Hidden thank you for your reply. It’s good to hear these stories as it gives me hope. Just shows that pregnancy is not always what you think it is going to be. So sorry to hear about your loss and your experience it sounds awful. Thanks again for your support it means a lot xx
Thank you, its funny I’m due the same time with this pregnancy as I was with my chemical crazy! I choose to view as something must’ve not been right with the baby maybe it would’ve had bad health issues affecting quality of their life.
Spotting is very common just wish more people spoke about then it wouldn’t feel as scary- we are all led to believe bleeding in pregnancy =miscarriage but it doesn’t always. The midwives always said unless I had severe abdominal pain with really heavy bleeding not to worry & it would probably be fine ( that is common it is)
Hopefully seeing the scan will give reassurance it’s not easy being pregnant after infertility.
Pregnancy is a wonderful but totally unique experience to each women! ❤️ xxx
I know it helps more when women are able to share from personal experience, I don't have personal experience of pregnancy yet unfortunately but I wanted to add in case it helps that a very close friend of mine had red bleeding only when wiping between weeks 6&12. At scans the embryo/baby was perfectly snug and unaffected. They discovered that it was likely due to a lower lying placenta and some irritation of the cervix. Every pregnancy is different but reassurance that bleeding isn't always a bad sign hopefully will give you hope & a little comfort. Wishing you all the best xx
Thank you for sharing your friends story and it is good to hear of normal things like this when the baby is fine. I am feeling more positive today about everything and I will update you all tomorrow after my scan. Thanks again and I hope your well. Always happy to return the favour and provide support if you need it xx
