First timer!

We are due to start our first IVF cycle at the end if the month. Feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement. Could you let me know some of the side effects you experienced whilst taking the IVF drugs and any tips you have?

Thanks :) x

Hi there, just wanted to wish you the very best of luck. I remember starting out and it was all very daunting. I don’t remember any side effects. My top tip was taking lubion progesterone injections, I really feel these helped me but I know they’re not for everyone!

I’m currently sat here feeding one of my twin girls who were a result of our ivf. Miracles do happen ❤️ sending lots of love x

Welcome! I don’t think I had anything major until egg collection. After that I was very tender and bloated for a free days. And breasts were sore.

If you’re on progesterone pessaries later, those are a bit gross. Do them before you go to sleep and first thing in morning before you have to get up (if poss).

Good luck and reach out on here whenever you need to 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hello hello, Wishing you all the luck on your journey!

I got a bit moody on my IVF injections and my hubby said I was quite snappy at times. Was that the drugs or the emotions of going through the process I don't know!

I've also been bloated from the start. Bloated from the injections, bloated after egg collection and then bloated from the pessaries. But such a small price to pay.

As Stato mentioned if you're on progesterone pessaries they are gross, but you get use to it and find out what works for you.

Only other tips would be to go with the flow and listen to the experts. You may have loads of follicles or you may have only a few. You only need 1 good one to get the end result you want. So try to keep yourself distracted and avoid overthinking, and this forum is a great place as someone on here will have experience of whatever you're going through and can give advise or just be there if you need to vent.

Wishing you lots of luck. xxx

Hi there I’ve just had my first embryo transfer so now playing the waiting game. The injections I tolerated well. I just had a lot of tiredness and headache on the first day and I was fine after that. Expect bloating. I bought myself some loose joggers to feel comfortable and Am working from home so it was fine. The injections don’t hurt by the way. If you’re worried about something specific let me know, I’m a freshie too. Good luck with it all x
